I’m always on the look out for a good product to cover my dark circles. I currently have been using Shiseido’s Sheer Eye Zone Corrector in #4 Natural Ochre. I use these correctors under my concealer. I’ve tried brighteners like YSL’s Touché Eclat in the light pink and a yellow toned shade, and while it does brighten it doesn’t really cover or correct the darker tones for me. I’ve heard good things about Armani’s Master Corrector and thought I would try it to see if it hides my dark circles better.
Per Armani’s website: “Corrective concealer in two color-balancing shades designed to target specific complexion concerns. Exclusive micro-fil technology allows for targeted correction, visibly concealing imperfections while light-reflecting pearls impart a halo of light imparting a seamless, flawless facial canvas.” “2. orange: targets olive or darker skin tones to conceal under-eye circles, freckles, dark spots and hyper-pigmentation.” It retails for $39 for a 0.14 oz tube. The tube has a thin brush applicator, like a liquid eyeliner.
The texture is great, blends nice, no creasing. It’s thin and more liquid in texture. You wear this under concealer. I’ve used this under Cle de Peau and Urban Decay’s Naked Skin concealer. I apply a line under my eye where the dark circles are the bluest and blend, then apply concealer as normal. I feel this does help correct some of the blue tones in my circles, then I cover the darkness as usual. It’s expensive and not a huge tube, though you don’t need a lot. It works better than other correctors I’ve tried in the past, it’s also the most orange of all the ones I’ve tried as well. I’m not sure what the point of the eyeliner style brush is since your not doing fine lines, a sponge tip applicator would have been fine. Maybe for freckles and dark spots as they mention. I have not tried it for that purpose. This isn’t a miracle worker and won’t make your dark circles go away, though I find nothing ever is and I need to keep my expectations in reality.
The only thing I really had to compare it to is Shiseido’s Sheer Eye Sone Corrector. The Shiseido is more like a concealer and corrector in one, it’s sheer to light coverage overall. I used it under concealer. The Armani is definitely more of a corrector, it’s very peachy orange in comparison to the Shiseido. Both are more orange than regular concealer and the YSL Touché Eclat. I haven’t come across anything like the Armani so far and it’s worth checking out if you have dark circles and feel like regular concealer or traditional eye brighteners aren’t cutting it.
