August Samples & Empties

Time for the August Samples & Empties Post. Quick thoughts about each starting above.

John Masters Organics Lavender & Avocado Intensive Conditioner: This has long been a favorite of mine. Lightweight yet hydrating it never weighs my hair down. Natural ingredients. Hero product, review here.

Drunk Elephant B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Gel: I love this light gel hydrator. I actually have a new bottle I’m working on. Would repurchase and review here.

Herbivore Coco Rose Body Polish: The best ever. Light natural rose scent combined with coconut. Staple shower item, I go through a jar a month. Hero product and review here.

Dr.Jart+ Dermaclear Micro Milk Peel: I liked this. I loved the lactic acid/coconut milk combo. I would repurchase one day. Review here.

Tata Harper Purifying Cleanser: Love this. It’s not too drying like some clay cleansers. I have a new one I’m playing with right now but I would most definitely repurchase this. Review here.

Glossier Invisible Shield: Love the light gel serum texture of this. Strong citrus scent. A little pricey for the smaller size. If it wasn’t for the fact it stings my eyes when I sweat I would probably have this as a staple. Review here.

Perricone MD H2 Elemental Energy Hydrating Cloud Cream: Lightweight gel cream. It was OK but nothing mind boggling. I prefer their Hyalo Plasma which is a zillion times better than this one. Review coming shortly.

Perricone MD H2 Elemental Energy Hydrating Booster Serum: This was a really light clear gel serum hydrator. It was almost a water like texture, just slightly thicker than water. It absorbs instantly for hydration. It’s not very much hydration but it layers well.

Omorovicza Blue Diamond Eye Cream: Love this. It’s a staple eye cream for me and a hero product. I would repurchase, in fact I already have. Review here.

Fresh Vitamin Nectar Vibrancy-Boosting Face Mask: I wanted to really love this. I love the concept, the orange scent, the smoothie like base. It works well. The only thing I dislike about this is the large fruit pieces in it. It makes it hard to wash off with a cloth. I liked this better in the shower because it felt easier to manage. Maybe it’s just me but I just couldn’t get past not liking having those large fruit pieces in it. It just annoyed me. Too bad cause the base is so good. Review here.

Fresh Rose Face Mask: Love this cucumber gel hydrating real rose petal mask. I talked about it some here.

Rahua Omega 9 Hair Mask: I love Rahua products. They have the best light warm nutty scent. This is an amazing lightweight mask that’s not too heavy or greasy. It sinks in and really hydrates without being too heavy. Pricey that about it’s only draw back. Otherwise it’s perfect.

Huxley Secret of Sahara Essence; Grab Water: Lightweight liquid gel serum. I love the prickly pear cactus ingredient. This is just too strongly scented for me to repurchase. It has a floral perfume scent. Review here.

The Ordinary Argireline Solution 10%: I wanted to love this too. I’ve found The Ordinary line, while affordable, has it’s hits and misses for me. This one was a miss. Review here.

Fresh Vitamin Nectar Moisture Glow Face Cream: I like this. Same citrus scent as the mask. Texture is a hydrating light cream similar to the Lotus cream. Good for day, it was almost too light for night for me.

Fresh Soy Face Cleanser: I love this light gel cleanser. I’m always happy to get minis. I honestly haven’t had to buy a big one yet because I always have minis around.

Atrac-Tain Cream: This is a cream I discovered working on the floor as a nurse. It can remove even the largest of callouses with time. You have to get it from the pharmacy counter but you don’t need a script. Be careful with it it can cause chemical burns it’s quite powerful. I use this once a day to maybe 2-3x/week only on my heels and toes to help soften the skin.

Zelens 3t Complex: This has surprised me. I thought it would be just an OK cream. This is lightweight enough yet very hydrating. My skin drinks it up and looks so good in the morning. This has quickly become my most reached for night cream, could be day appropriate in the winter, as well as a new hero product. More to come soon.

Perricone MD H2 Elemental Energy De-Puffing Eye Gel: This was OK. Light gel cream. Wasn’t really all that depuffing. Felt a little refreshing due to the texture. I wouldn’t grab it again.

Kiehl’s Pure Vitality Skin Renewing Cream: This was OK. A heavier night cream. It wasn’t anything that really stood out to me.

Hurraw! Choco Mint Lip Balm: I love Hurraw! They’re a small natural Montana based company. My territory in Montana included their headquarters. I wasn’t a fan of this flavor in particular, but I love many of their others. Organic, natural, cheap.

Drunk Elephant Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil: I liked this. It wasn’t my favorite of all time facial oil I’ve tried, but it was good. A little on the medium to heavier end. I have a few more samples to go through.

Tata Harper Illuminating Moisturizer: At first I didn’t like this. It’s thin, the lightest of their lotions to date. I love the pinky nude pearl in this. So glad they didn’t pick a champagne gold. It’s too light to be worn alone for me. It is fun to layer. I liked it the most over the La Mer Moisturizing Matte Lotion.

African Botanics Cloudburst Micro Emulsion: This is lighter than I thought it would be. It needs to be layered. I have a full size so I’ll wait on full thoughts until then.

Estee Lauder The Estee Edit Pink Peony Overnight Water Pack: This was OK. Light gel cream, like the Laneige water sleeping pack. Neither one really do it for me in comparison to Glow Recipe’s Watermelon Sleeping Mask.

African Botanics Nutritive Molecule Serum: This is different than I thought t would be. Not in a bad way. I’m working on the big version. Stay tuned.

Philosophy Renewed Hope in a Jar: This was an OK medium cream. It didn’t stick out in my head one way or the other.

Byredo Westbrook: Liked this. Light unisex scent. I just looked for it during Barney’s Love Yourself event and it seems to be sold out. It was limited edition.

Le Metier de Beaute PV Complexe Shade 02: I wanted to love this sheer foundation/tinted moisturizer. It has a slightly shimmery hint to it. It’s nice as far as a tinted moisturizer. It’s quite pigmented for that. It’s just pricey for what you get. I wasn’t a fan of the shimmer.

Sunday Riley CEO Rapid Flash Brightening Serum: I love the light creamy feel and citrus scent. Smells like oranges. I have a full size I just finished so coming up soon will be a full post.

Bobbi Brown Eye Opening Mascara: This oddly has a wide opening. The wand slides right out instead of scraping all the mascara off. Nice plushy brush but it was so clumpy.

L’Oreal Voluminous Base Primer: I wanted to like this but these primers just make for the most spidery lashes. I used it once and was done with it.

Bite Beauty Multistick Cashew: I didn’t use the other shades. Cashew was a nice deep brown rose. The formula isn’t dry so much but it’s thick, creamy, pigmented and rich. It’s not silicone slippery nor a dry gliding matte. It’s a thick, sticky almost, cream. It was too dry for my lips and too dry for my cheeks because it was so pigmented–you only needed a touch. It took a bit of work to spread it out evenly. The color was too dark for me. I just wasn’t into it overall but I can see others being into it.

Whamisa Organic Flowers Toner Deep Rich: This was a nice slippery rich toner. Almost more like an essence.

Make p:rem Safe me. Relief moisture cream 12: This was a nice unscented simple light cream. Probably the first K Beauty unscented item I’ve seen.

Eve Lom Gel Balm Cleanser: Love this, I bought a full size. Reminds me of OSKIA Renaissance cleanser. More to come.

REN Evercalm Ultra Comforting Rescue Mask: This was calming and nice I liked it. I have lots of things like it.

Farmacy Honey Savior: I used this when I really needed the moisture. It’s very much like a salve and honey. Imagine that. Too heavy for me for most times.

Oribe Gold Lust Shampoo & Conditioner: Love this. Hydrating yet not too oily or greasy.

Briogeo Blossom & Bloom Ginseng + Biotin Volumizing Conditioner: Loved this. Not too heavy, didn’t weigh my hair down. Hydrating enough. Thinking about buying it.

Briogeo Be Gentle, Be Kind Avocado + Quinoa Co-Wash: This was OK. My hair was way greasy by the next morning. Maybe good for curly hair but not mine.

Pantene Daily Moisture Renewal Shampoo & Conditioner: Eh, it was OK. Typical Pantene scent. Heavy to some degree.
