Birchbox is $10 a month and you get 5 samples every month. They seem to be less drugstore than Ipsy which I know a lot of people love so that was why I picked Birchbox. They ship quick and seem to be reliable on that for the last 2 months. They also have a loyalty system where you get points for buying from them as well as reviewing your box. You get 50 points for every box reviewed which is equal to $5 in their store.
I have to admit Birchbox doesn’t always have items I love love in the box, but the point system getting $5 no matter what for the $10 spent plus the samples is not so bad.
September was my most favorite month so far out of the 2. Maybe because it’s my birthday on Friday so I tend to love September stuff? The box had a Harvey Prince Ageless Liquid Loofah body wash, Macadamia Professional flawless cleansing conditioner, Pixi Shea Butter lip balm in Honey Nectar, TEMPTU Champagne Shimmer Highlighter & Vasanti Cosmetics Brighten Up! Face Rejuvinator. I have tried them all out except the TEMPTU as I just have too many highlighters and it went on my swaplist.
The Pixi balm is nice, moisturizing, I wish it had a touch more color it’s very much my same lip color. The body wash was ok I got 3 uses from it, I didn’t notice an exfoliating effect but it smelled nice. The Macadamia cleansing conditioner was a choice I would not normally pick but it was conditioning enough which I did not think was possible. My hair is dry and I need a fair amount of conditioning or I can’t comb through my hair. I did use it after one pass with a different regular shampoo as I tend to do two washes no matter what. I did not test it alone as both the shampoo and conditioner.
