Bobbi Brown Glow Stick Bikini, Nude Beach & Desert Sun: Review & Swatches

Bobbi Brown just released a Glow Stick for summer. I was thinking sign me up for Bobbi Brown Multiples! These are described as highlighters. I wasn’t sure what to expect as some of the colors looked really dark for a highlighter. Details per Bobbi Brown:

Like sunshine in a stick—this creamy, lightweight highlighter glides on skin to deliver an instant, sun-kissed glow that lasts all day. Available in shimmer, soft shimmer and flat finishes. The ultimate no-mirror highlighter, this sheer, emollient-rich formula goes on easy and blends seamlessly for natural, healthy-looking color. Just throw it on, blend and glow.

The Glow Sticks are in typical Bobbi Brown packaging. A slim black metal case with the white logo. I grabbed three shades: Bikini, Nude Beach and Desert Sun. The texture is glossy, the pigmentation is sheer. It was a bit of a let down. I was hoping for a creamier texture with more pigment. The formula is glossy, emollient and sheer so it wears off fast. It never really sets so it moves around the cheek area.

Bikini is a sheer cool pink base with gold glitter. It’s not full on glitter, but it’s not shimmer. It’s micro glitter. It can work as a highlighter for most, but might be too dark for pale complexions. Nude Beach is a sheer creamy warm medium caramel nude. Desert Sun is a sheer creamy brown rose. Nude Beach and Desert Sun are too dark to be a highlighter for the majority of complexions. They’re best as a blush. They’re a bit too emollient and glossy for me as a cream blush. The formula reminds me of the Cheek Glow Palette. Neither is my favorite formula for a blush or highlighter. I prefer a creamier more dry formula. If you like glossy and sheer for summer you’ll like these.
