Burberry Beauty Fresh Glow Foundation Gel Stick

I have to admit I haven’t tried a whole lot from the Burberry Beauty line. Their new Fresh Glow Foundation Gel Stick seemed right up my alley for summer. I was right. Details per Burberry:

Introducing Fresh Glow Gel Stick. An innovative water-infused foundation and concealer that provides flawless, medium to high coverage with weightless wear.

A unique aloe vera and water-gel based formula, it releases encapsulated water on application to revitalise and hydrate skin. The formula is enriched with optical diffusers for a natural, radiant finish – apply a soft layer or build coverage as desired for an undetectable, flawless skin finish that lasts all day.

To conceal and correct, dot on to imperfections, dark spots and blemishes. Directly dab on skin to touch up when on the move during the day.

Benefits

  • Flawless, medium to high coverage
  • Weightless wear
  • Glow on the go

This stick foundation ended up blowing me away with it’s weightless coverage that looks like skin. It’s got a cooling sensation when you apply (which I love during the summer). This has light to medium coverage & is buildable to a degree. You’re not going to get above medium coverage with this. This is not a full or high coverage foundation at all.  It’s not going to cover all your spots and unevenness & your skin is going to show through some. I love it’s ability to even the skin tone, cover some imperfections and perk up your skin giving it a fresh no make up feel. My favorite foundations do just that. Even and cover up a little but leave some skin showing through so you have a natural finish. I’m not into a heavy or matte foundation.

A lot of stick foundations are either too matte and dry, sheer or greasy and oily for me. This one manages to have a refreshing gel texture that sets to a satin finish, so no oily texture. This is perfect for summer. It’s light, cooling on application & doesn’t cause excessive oiliness during the day. This lasts about 6-8 hours before needing a touch up. To be fair it’s hot as hell right now in Texas and the humidity is 150%. The fact that it holds up 6-8 hours in that weather is impressive enough. I loved this hydrating water based formula, it’s so refreshing. It’s a cheaper alternative to my beloved YSL Radiant Foundation Stick (I lived in that one last summer). Burberry costs half the price and has more coverage. I would easily buy this again as it’s a fantastic product. It melds with the skin perfectly.

I started with shade 28 Warm Beige thinking a warm beige shade would fit me best. It ended up working OK but it was a touch too deep. So I grabbed 26 Beige which ended up being perfect. Beige is that neutral beige with a hint of olive undertone. It’s neither too warm, cool, pink or yellow. It’s a perfect neutral. This would suit NC 25-27 pretty well. NC30 would probably go for 28 Warm Beige. If you are looking for a refreshing water based foundation that melds perfectly with the skin and gives a light to medium like skin coverage, then this is for you.
