Cle de Peau Beaute Cream Eye Color Solo #304 Pony: Review & Swatches

I don’t normally like cream eyeshadows. However, they are so easy and good for a quick easy look. I just hate how they crease. I like a lot of Cle de Peau and was interested in trying their Cream Eye Color. Pony #304 was the most nude and my choice.

Per Cle de Peau: “A luxuriously smooth dewy cream eye shadow that transforms into a silky powder and melts into skin for exquisitely define eyes with captivating color.” The retail is $45.

Key Benefits:

  • Exquisite color and a captivating texture wear flawlessly.
  • Provides exact color reproduction.
  • Long-lasting.
  • Creamy smooth texture provides a sensation of melting into skin.
  • Formulated with Hydro-Wrap Complex EX and Premium Argan Tree Oil for a moisturizing effect.

Sunlight:

Even though I’m not a big cream eyeshadow fan Tom Ford’s Cream Color For Eyes in Platinum started me on a cream eyeshadow kick. Cle de Peau’s Pony is a shimmering neutral beige. It has a fair amount of larger shimmer to it. It’s not metallic, but it’s pretty sparkly. No glitter. The shimmer is silver in tone. The beige looks neutral in the pan but it has a purple hint to it when you compare it to other shades. See the swatches below.

Texture wise it’s smooth, it spreads evenly and well. It has a slight silicone feel. It’s more slippery than Tom Ford’s which feels more water or gel mousse like. Cle de Peau is more creamy. Because of the more creamy feel, this creases fairly quickly. Within 3 hours. It lasts fairly well for a cream eyeshadow, about 6 hours without fading.

The Cle de Peau is a nice smooth creamy eye shade, it requires a bit of touch up during the day. It’s higher maintenance than Tom Ford. Personally, I prefer Tom Ford to this. I like low maintenance.

  1. I'm bummed to hear this creased so quickly, as I just got a sample from so choix (I don't usually get full size of cream color products, they spoil too quickly for me.) Was that over an eye primer, bare, foundation…?

  2. Over an eye primer. I never wear any shadow without primer. I used Urban Decay Eye Primer Potion. I also tried Too Faced Shadow Insurance. If I had put powder over it seems like it would have stayed on longer. For me I feel like cream shadow is to be easy like a one and done, not to have to put powder over it to not crease.

  3. Good to know. I'll unsubscribe from future colors of this product. The one I got is a pale blue so maybe I'll get lucky and it won't crease. 🙂 I'm still on the hunt for a cruelty free shimmery aqua cream shadow to replace my Maybelline color tattoo.
