Current Favorites & Product Obsessions

Summer is here to stay in Texas. One of my all time favorite summer foundations is the Cle de Peau Radiant Stick Radiant Stick Foundation. This is so lightweight, with a cooling and refreshing feel. I used about half up last summer and I intend to finish it this summer. This has amazing lasting power for such a lightweight foundation. I wear shade Ochre and review is HERE.

I give up heavier primers in the summer and tend to go for almost serum like gel textured ones. I’m going to give the Sisley Double Tenseur a good trial run. I’ve used multiple minis of it. Time to go for a big one. I love the silky light gel texture. It’s slippery enough to help makeup glide on while being light enough to not make me feel like I’ve added this heavy extra layer. It also helps reduce wrinkles with long term use. I love skincare meets makeup products. More to come.

I love YOU Skincare. The indie line always manages to please with amazing inci lists. During the holidays I got a gift with purchase sample of the Radiant Perfecting Cream. This isn’t out yet and from what I understand this was the more matte version with a more silky version coming. I love the glass pump packaging. I saved this for summer (thinking matte version) but it’s actually more hydrating than I anticipated and a tad too much for summer. So I’ll probably end up pulling this out again in the fall.

Summertime means I slather myself in sea scents. One of my all time favorites is the spicy warm sea scent Heeley Sel Marin. Sun, warm sand and a gentle breeze of fresh sea air. A refreshing and striking note of lemon fades to reveal an aquatic green, algue note, while vetiver and drift woods of cedar and birch dry slowly in the sand and salty, sea air. Lemon. Italian Bergamot. Sea Salt. Moss. Algae. Vetiver. Cedar. Musk. I talked about it HERE.

I’ve been slathering the Okoko Secret du Dragon Moisturizing Renewal Lip Serum on my lips all week and I love it. This contains blue tansy, prickly pear, tomato seed oil, ceramide-3 & dragon’s blood extract. It smells amazing and moisturizes well. I love that they put it in a stick and not a pot! More to come.

I recently grabbed a few things from Naturallogic which is a new to me line. The LUNA Red Wine Probiotic + Antioxidant Mask is this chocolatey red wine scented indulgence. The red wine ferment, clay and cocoa detox the skin while the oils hydrate. It left my skin so soft, hydrated and feeling really great. I love everything fermented in skincare. Sadly it’s seasonal due to the red wine ferment and just sold out. It seems to come out every year from what I have seen. More to come.

The new Summer SUQQU Designing Color Eyes in Shakuyousa 116 (exclusive to the UK) is so out of my comfort zone, but it’s so pretty. I really like the bottom two shades. It’s pretty much impossible to get so I apologize for showing it. It’s so summery and pretty though, it needs to be in a few pictures. More to come.

COSRX Aloe Soothing Sun Cream is a cult favorite for a reason. I finally grabbed it for my summer sunscreen post this year and I love it. It’s a light creamy lotion formula with no white cast. I also ventured into some K Beauty makeup (I’m normally just a K Beauty skincare girl) and grabbed a CLE Cosmetics Essence Moonlighter Cushion in Apricot Tinge. This liquid highlighter housed in a fun cushion compact. It’s light and refreshing in texture. This is a shimmering light apricot shade which is good for light to medium skin tones. More to come on both.

I was afraid to grab the Lovinah Dragon’s Blood Brightening Face Tonic due to the acetic acid content. I have a serious thing with strong vinegar scented products. I’m happy to say this manages to have no vinegar scent whatsoever. This is a light watery essence style toner with aloe, fermented rooibos tea (yes), cucumber, rose otto, dragon’s blood, kojic acid, witch hazel, apple cider vinegar, lactobacillus, astaxanthin and white tea to name a few. I use this more as an essence, I spray in my palms and press into my skin. It’s got lots of antioxidants and well as ingredients to brighten and lightly exfoliate (vinegar). This is better than I thought it would be. It’s also my favorite of the three items I grabbed recently as my introduction to the line. More to come.
