Current Favorites & Product Obsessions

A lot of new discoveries this month along with a few old favorites. Alpha-H Liquid Gold Rose Hand Cream is a new version of an old favorite. The Alpha-H hand cream is my all time favorite night hand treatment. This glycolic acid hand cream easily helps keep hands looking young while hydrating all night long. The Age Delay Hand & Cuticle Cream is my favorite (and original) version of this hand cream. Review HERE. This version is a bit lighter and more rose scented.

Ayuna has become a recent brand obsession of mine. I forgot how much I loved Essence. This is such a unique peel with it’s tri-phase formula. It’s a proteic exfoliant with amino acids that also uses a mild gommage exfoliant, followed by an oleo-essence finish for soft skin. It’s got a thick creamy texture that dries down and you rub it off. It leaves your skin super soft with a few oils behind to soften and hydrate. It works remarkably well and I just ordered another full size recently. I discussed it HERE.

Stratia Liquid Gold is this lovely incredibly nourishing light textured lotion. Ceramides, cholesterol & fatty acids replenish & nourish the skin with a lightweight texture. In the winter it works well under another cream, in the summer it can be it’s own lotion. Alastin is a fairly new to me brand. I finally caved and grabbed the HydraTint Pro Mineral SPF 36. This is the perfect tinted SPF moisturizer. It’s like a light foundation combined with SPF. It’s not heavy and has the most amazing texture for a sunscreen. It’s very light & goes on like nothing yet provides SPF coverage and has enough tint to even out the skin tone like a light foundation. It’s not greasy , drying or too heavy like a lot of sunscreens. Where has this been all my life? More to come on both.

OY-L is a new brand to me. I grabbed a few things on the recent A Night for Green Beauty. The Manuka Latte Lip Balm is just divine. The first ingredient is coffee butter-yum. This lip balm has a butter like texture, it’s very hydrating without being hard or waxy. It also contains Manuka honey. The Crystal Eye Serum is a new launch. This eye serum has an impressive inci list with abyssinian, cucumber, watermelon, hemp & coffee seed oil combined with snow mushroom extract. This oil is very rich & nourishing. Perfect for nights. I love the use of a real amethyst as the roller ball. Truly unique and I love it. More to come on both.

Fresh just launched a new Sugar lip product called Lip Wonder Drops. This water-gel liquid combines fruit extracts & hibiscus for natural alpha hydroxy acid exfoliation with sugar & hyaluronic acid for hydration. It’s brilliant and it works. It has a sweet citrus taste, sinks right into the lips and leaves a protective hydrating film on the lips. It makes a good lip primer as well. This does have a dropper dispenser (I’m not a fan of droppers because I’m clumsy) but I overlook that as this product is phenomenal. Fifteen minutes after application my lips are smoother and the rough spots start disappearing. I like using this right outside of the lip line as well (where my skin meets my lips). This area is prone to rough spots on me and Lip Wonder Drops manages to take care of that with ease for me. I found this gentle enough for daily use and I would definitely buy it again.

Byredo Mojave Ghost is a light floral woody scent. I have a big obesession with Byredo who manages to really create nice unique scents. None of them are overpowering ever. Perfect skin scents. The ghost flower is a rare species that dares to blossom above this baked, hard ground. Despite its arid surroundings and inability to produce nectar, the ghost flower, or mohavea confertiflora, maintains its perfect, majestic beauty and thrives year after year. In an astonishing feat of ingenuity, the flower uses mimicry to attract the pollinators of a neighboring plant species by developing markings that resemble those of a female bee genus attracted to its subject and duping the male bee into following suit. This moving human-like behavior and captivating tale of survival lies in the foundation that inspired Mojave Ghost, an homage to this most bewitching flower. Notes-Top: ambrette, Jamaican nesberry. Middle: violet, sandalwood, magnolia. Base: chantilly musk, crisp amber, cedarwood.
