Current Favorites & Product Obsessions

I’m spending the day cleaning and packing to go to New York for a night on Tuesday. I’ll be turning forty on Wednesday and while I have all kinds of thoughts in my head about that subject, overall I feel fine with it. I thought I wasn’t going to get a favorites post in this week but then the sun popped out for a bit and I ran outside. Which was a good thing as I actually had quite a few things I’ve been smitten with this week.

The new Peach & Lily Wild Dew Treatment Essence has been quite lovely. This essence contains lotus extract, niacinamide, yeast ferment, radish seed extract, adenosine, bamboo complex and a hyaluronic acic complex. I’m in love with the slippery, hydrating feel but it’s so lightweight for an essence. It’s almost a toner meet essence texture. More to come. Hermes Epice Marine is a spicy sea scent. I love the bottles of the Hermes luxury line. Epice Marine offers aromas of spices cut through with the invigorating tang of the sea. The notes are cumin, hazelnut, sesame, cinnamon, cardamom, bergamot, sea notes, whiskey, vetiver & oakmoss. It’s got a really unique line up of notes there’s not much else that smells like it, similar but not the same. If you like spicy sea scents check this one out.

I pulled out my VOTARY Toning Serum as I wanted a hint of acids this week but not much. This has a slippery super lightweight textured liquid that contains: water, neroli flower water, lemon fruit water, glycerin, sucrose, ascorbyl glucoside, citric acid, sodium hyaluronate & glycolic acid. It smells mostly like lemon water but has hints of neroli. It’s very light and fresh in scent. The fruit & glycolic acids combined with vitamin C should brighten skin and encourage cellular turnover. This has a 1% glycolic acid content so it’s mild enough for everyone.

Adsorb Beauty is a Japanese skincare brand I’m playing with. There’s three items in the line and I started with the AntiBody Moist Essence Serum. I’ll be adding in the gel cream this week to get a feel for the whole line. This has a light hydrating gel serum texture. This line uses natural antibody technology in combination with peptides and hydrators for a serum that helps with anti-aging as well as the health of your skin. Think of this as a different technology for skin health other than probiotics. More to come after I test it fully for a while.

I’ve been using the Joanna Vargas Supernova Serum for a few weeks. I’m probably half way done. This retinol serum combines plant extracts with peptides for a really nice anti-aging night serum. Retinol is your gold standard for anti-aging as it helps fines lines, wrinkles, uneven skin texture & tone. I love the light fruity scent and the light gel serum texture (I hate creamy retinols). It contains apple fruit cell cultures, summer snowflake extract, persian silk tree, and peptides Palmitoyl Oligopeptide & Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7. Supernova also has vitamin E and C for antioxidant protection and collagen production. Add in some chamomile for soothing and Pseudoalteromonas Ferment Extract which is a protein derivative bacteria (improves hydration and collagen production). I’ll post final thoughts after I finish the bottle.

I grabbed three things from the new Westman Atelier makeup line during the Barney’s Love Yourself event. The packaging is stunning on all the products. I’ve been loving the Vital Skin Foundation Stick. It’s a dewy hydrating stick foundation that’s not greasy and looks like skin. The creamy texture melds with the skin beautifully. I’m officially obsessed. I’m going back and forth between shades 5 and 6 and I’ll post shades with my final review.

I’ve been pairing the Baby Cheeks Blush Stick in Petal with the Super Loaded Tinted Highlight for a sun kissed natural flush. The creamy textures are divine. These have that perfect creamy texture where they blend beautifully and set down a bit so they’re not sliding around all day. The longevity and pigmentation is good. I like these two mixed together the best. More to come in final review.
