Current Product Obsessions

Time to talk about some current product obsessions. Glow Recipe’s Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask has been an obsession of mine since it came out. It’s hydrating-gel-watermelon-exfoliating goodness makes your skin glow in the morning. Review here.

I’ve rediscovered my love for ORIBE Matte Waves Texture Lotion. While it works great on it’s own for soft non-drying waves, I’ve been loving it more lately  because it adds hold when you add it on top of a sea salt texture spray. Texture sprays alone look great at first but get frizzy and fall flat by the end of the day for me. Adding the Oribe on top adds a bit of hold and less frizz all day. Review here.

Becca Light Chaser Highlighter Opal x Jade has this shimmering pink nude base with a stunning teal shift. I quite love it. It’s smooth and adds the most ethereal glow. Review here.

I grabbed a few things from Glossier recently. I’ve never tried anything by them in the past. Glossier Cloud Paint Dusk is a gel cream blush that’s sheer yet buildable. It’s super light and perfect for summer. Its like watercolor paint. Dusk is a nude pink with no shimmer.

With Cloud Paint, we set out to make blush the high point of your routine. The pillowy, gel-cream formula is designed to be the most user-friendly cheek color in existence. If you can finger paint, you can Cloud Paint—simply dab it onto cheeks wherever you please. It’s seamless, sheer, and buildable (i.e. it’s hard to accidentally apply too much). Inspired by gradient pink NYC sunsets, the shades are optimized to work across a wide range of skin tones for a healthy, flushed-from-within glow.

Paul & Joe Gel Blush 003 Onirique was a huge surprise for me. I opened it and figured it was too light for my skin tone. However, it works pretty good. It’s only a bit darker than my skin tone adding a light pink peach nude flush. No shimmer. The texture is what’s so amazing about it. It has this light gel texture that cools on application. For the light gel texture it amazingly lasts so well in the summer Texas heat and humidity.

PAUL & JOE Gel Blush is a watery blush adorns dreamy cheeks, for creating a radiant clarity and a natural glow. Inspired by blurred yet colorful daydreams, this water gel blush creates blurred cheek makeup with colors that are clear and pure, and that adorn the cheeks with dewy, crystalline radiance. To achieve a delicate, blurred-color appearance, the technology employed for ECLATANT, the popular “water foundation,” is applied. Its cool, refreshing sensation is perfect for summer. GEL BLUSH glides on the skin effortlessly, and fits snugly and meltingly to the skin to form a thin, uniform layer of makeup. Imparting a natural glow that seems to emanate from within, it is buildable, and the intensity of the colors can be adjusted freely. Corrects tonal and textural unevenness on the skin surface. Unlike many cream blushes, it never clogs pores. Resistant to smudges and perspiration, it creates a supple makeup layer that maintains a flawless finish for many hours.

Cle De Peau Beaute Radiant Fluid Foundation O30 is the next foundation I’m testing. The color O30 is actually quite perfect for me. The texture is a lightweight thin liquid foundation with a satin finish that’s never greasy. More to come.

Rituel de Fille Rare Light Luminizers have been a staple since I’ve discovered them. Their creamy yet long lasting texture is amazing. The colors shift in the light and are multi-faceted. Phosphene has been one of my favorites of the three shades. Review & swatches here.
