Deciem The Ordinary Vitamin C Suspension 23% + HA Spheres 2%: Review

I’ve been trying many items from the new The Ordinary line from Deciem. For the cheap prices how can you not? Per Deciem: “The Ordinary is an evolving collection of treatments offering familiar, effective clinical technologies positioned to raise pricing and communication integrity in skincare. The brand was created to celebrate integrity in its most humble and true form. Its offering is pioneering, not in the familiar technologies it uses, but in its honesty and integrity. The Ordinary is born to disallow commodity to be disguised as ingenuity. The Ordinary is “Clinical formulations with integrity”.

Vitamin C is an effective antioxidant and its pure form of L-Ascorbic Acid has been shown to reverse multiple signs of skin ageing while brightening the skin when applied topically. This water-free, silicone-free formula provides 23% pure L-Ascorbic Acid which remains completely stable due to the absence of water. The system is supported with addition of dehydrated spheres of Hyaluronic Acid to offer visible surface smoothing alongside the benefits of Vitamin C. This treatment is ideally applied at bedtime.”

They have several Vitamin C formulations. I have two I’ve been testing with one more on the way. The Vitamin C Suspension 23% + HA Spheres 2% is a light lotion texture that has a powdery feel to it, it’s got a gritty feel from the powder. It also has a greasy texture. This does sting some like it says it will, that wasn’t a minus for me. The big minus on this for me was the greasy texture and the fact that anything I layer over it pills or rolls off. It seems to sit on the skin longer than I need it to. The pilling is really the only negative for me. I couldn’t finish the tube I was so annoyed by it.

I wanted to love this because it’s only $5.80 for 30 ml. I think The Ordinary will be hit or miss for you, some products are great, some are not. It’ll depend on what your skin care type is and what you prefer in skincare. I have over a dozen of products to talk about from this line, they can’t all be hits.
