I’ve seen these new Vitamin D serums popping up on the market, along with other add on boosters. I wanted Zelens Power D but didn’t want to pay the high cost. I saw this Dr Brandt Power Dose D on Sephora and grabbed it. For $55 it seemed like a cheaper way to try out adding Vitamin D to my skincare regimen. Per Sephora: “Power Dose Vitamin D includes a unique combination of natural source of vitamin D that improves skin’s barrier function similar to the effects of vitamin D for a more hydrated, supple, and radiant skin—without the sun. Antioxidants help promote healthy, youthful-looking skin.”
The packaging is a dropper style bottle. It’s a thin colorless and odorless liquid. It has no greasy feel, no breakouts from use. It absorbs fast. You can mix it in a serum or use separately. It’s not going to add any real moisture boost or anything, it’s only mildly hydrating. This works for all skin types. It’s not irritating or pore clogging. It’s not going to be too much for oily skin, it isn’t enough moisture for dry skin, but you need to layer this with your favorite serum and moisturizer anyway.
I used 3 drops every night. I layered before serum but after toner because of the thin texture. It lasted quite a bit, maybe 3-4 months. I did notice my skin was plumper, more youthful looking and had more of an elasticity to it. I’m sold on Vitamin D. I would rebuy this. However, I did just grab Zelens Power D to have some idea which I like better-so stay tuned. I feel this is a cheap alternative and worth trying. It’s not a dupe since Zelens is an oil based product, this one is not. Dr Brandt Power Dose D is a non oily liquid.
