Fresh Sugar Nude Lip Treatment Review & Swatches

Fresh comes out with a new tinted lip balm every now and then and their newest one is Nude. Nude is a sheer peachy beige shade with a very fine gold shimmer. It is on the line of Rose sheer, not like some of the other more pigmented ones they have come out with such as Petal and Honey.

Fresh lip balms are really great, they have a faint citrus scent and are very emollient. They are not waxy and are very moisturizing. They have a blend of nourishing oils: jojoba, avocado, black currant seed and meadowform seed oils, sugar which helps increase hydration and grapeseed polyphenols for moisture. They are pricey at $22.50, but once you try one it’s worth it.

Fresh lip balms used to be my favorite balm of all time until I started getting away from Oxybenzone sunscreen. They used to formulate them with Oxybenzone. However, the new ones since Petal I’ve seen have Avobenzone and Octinoxate which is OK for me. I cut Oxybenzone completely out of my beauty products because of the potential to cause hormone disruption once absorbed. I’m glad they have started to take this out of their balms, as I haven’t been using them for about six months, once their old stock is sold out and replaced with the new sunscreens I will get some of the older colors I have gotten rid of, and the clear again.

Nude is sheer, it’s just enough to add a hint of color and very fine shimmer. It’s not frosty or glittery at all. I personally love it, I know those of you who want more color will not, but if you want a great sheer color try it. You could always use this to replace clear on weekends or such for a hint of color like Rose. I hope they continue to add this fine shimmer to balms in the future as it adds some dimension to the color.

  1. Hi! Would you happen to know of any lip product dupes for the fresh Honey shade? When I look on google, every result that comes up is for a Clinique Black Honey dupe due to the similar keyword
