iS Clinical Cleansing Complex

I’m more than halfway done with my bottle of iS Clinical Cleansing Complex and it’s probably one of the items I’m most asked about. So time to talk about it. iS Clinical makes more clinical grade products. Details per iS Clinical:

This clear, lightweight cleansing gel is powerful, yet gentle enough for hypersensitive skin. CLEANSING COMPLEX incorporates a balance of bio-nutrients, antioxidants, and mild resurfacing ingredients that thoroughly cleanse the surface and pores of the skin without stripping essential natural oils, leaving skin soft and smooth. CLEANSING COMPLEX is excellent as a treatment step in professional facials and is very effective for removing makeup. Excellent for all skin types and all ages, this product even helps with blemish-prone skin.

Benefits

• Deep-cleanses skin and pores without drying
• Excellent for blemish-prone skin
• Gives the appearance of smaller pores
• Smoothes and softens
• Excellent for shaving
• Paraben-free

iS Clinical is one of those brands I’ve seen here or there on Instagram or a blog but I never really dived into them. This is the second cleanser from them I’ve played with and by far my favorite of the two. This is a great staple gel cleanser. It uses natural alphahydroxy acids (AHA) and betahydroxy acids (BHA) for a gentle and deeper cleanse. The AHA comes from sugar cane which has natural glycolic acid. This exfoliates the skin gently. The BHA comes from white willow bark extract. This also helps exfoliate but is really good at cleaning the gunk out of your pores. Think of BHA as the stuff that dissolves the ‘glue’ aka sebum and dead skin cells to clean out your pores. Cleansing Complex also contains chamomile extract which acts as an antioxidant and it’s calming & centella asiatica also an antioxidant that nourishes the skin.

Cleansing Complex is a clear gel. Nothing fancy, it doesn’t need to be. The packaging is simple-a blue plastic bottle with flip-top. It lasts forever to be honest. I’ve been using this 2-3x a week for months and barely used over half of it. It has a very faint scent, nothing I even notice or pay attention to. It’s not really worth noting, which means it’s minimal. This is your workhorse gel cleanser. It’s simple and effective. I love it at a morning cleanse in the shower with my Foreo Luna Mini. At night I tend to do a double cleanse with an oil or balm followed by some kind of gentle cleanser.

This is gentle and it could be used at night, in the morning or both depending how much you love gel cleansers. I just prefer it in the morning to clean everything good and start with a clean slate. I don;t typically use a gel cleanser to remove my makeup at night, I prefer using an oil based cleanser. So I haven’t tested it out fully for those claims. I still haven’t met a gel cleanser to date that could fully remove my makeup at night as cleanly as an oil.

This is gentle and even though it foams like a typical gel cleanser it won’t dry your skin out. It may not be a complex cleanser with a beautiful long green beauty inci list. This is your simple get it done cleanser. Cleansing Complex is a great cleanser for anyone with sensitive or problem skin. It’s easily my favorite gel cleanser and has earned a spot in my hero products. I would definitely repurchase.

If you don’t use this with water first this is what it foams like on the skin. Then once water is added it foams like a typical gel cleanser.
