John Masters Organics Lavender & Avocado Intensive Conditioner: Review

I am smitten with John Masters Organics Lavender & Avocado Intensive Conditioner. Per John Masters website: “Lavender and avocado oil are combined with 10 certified-organic plant extracts and oils to bring intense moisture and vitality to dry hair. Hair is left shiny, soft and luxurious. Wonderful, light lavender scent. Safe for color-treated hair.” The back of the bottle says ‘organic lavender, avocado & babassu oils replenish & renew dry, damaged hair. Soy protein helps strengthen & fortify hair shaft.’

I have a 7 fl oz tube, which retails for $22, and this is for dry, damaged, color treated and permed hair. You leave in 1-5 minutes then rinse, and can use weekly or daily. It has a light lavender scent, nothing bad. Some lavender is too much for me, but this is pleasant. At first I thought this wasn’t really an intensive treatment, it feels light and not heavy texture wise. It feels more like a voluminous conditioner while putting it on, it doesn’t feel heavy, greasy, like silicone or anything similar. It’s light and almost feels whipped a touch. However, when I rinse it off my hair feels so smooth and sleek, it’s hydrated yet not weighed down. That’s why I’m smitten with this one. I love a conditioner that hydrates well yet doesn’t weigh my hair down, and as a plus this one is natural and not full of silicone. So this just became one of my favorite conditioners.

The main ingredients are: water, aloe leaf juice, vitamin B5, avocado oil, jojoba seed oil, tocopherol(vitamin E), citric acid, lavender oil, hydrolyzed soy protein, caprylic/capric triglycerides(coconut oil fatty acids), honey, babassu seed oil, wheat amino acid, cedarwood oil, honeysuckle flower extract, palmarosa oil, arnica flower extract, calendula flower extract, white tea extract, chamomile flower extract.
