Recently I decided to dive into Kat Burki Skincare and splurged on a few items. I routinely go through phases where I have to try many multiple items from one brand, then I move on to the next brand and keep the few products I loved in rotation. No one skincare brand has ever been enough for me, I like 2-3 items from one line, with one item from that line and so on. I think you should never limit yourself to any one brand for skincare, or makeup for that matter. Find the few items you like from each line and use them all together. This allows you to pick the best and most effective skincare for your skin, not a generic skin type. Doesn’t mean you can’t try the whole line to find your favorites. I’ll start with the Vitamin C Nourishing Cleansing Balm which comes in a 2 oz glass jar for $65.
Per Kat Burki’s website: Repairs, renews and illuminates skin using a reparative combination of 15% STAY C (Vitamin C), Camu Camu berry, Gotu Kola and seven reparative Cold Processed Oils: Coconut, Sunflower, Jojoba, Rose Hip Seed, Olive, Avocado and Cranberry Seed. Helps repair the signs of aging. Follow with Kat Burki Vitamin C Intensive Face Cream.
How to Use: For AM/PM use. Apply a dime size amount of product on the palm of your hand (must be completely clean and dry) or onto damp Kat Burki muslin cloth. Massage onto face, neck and décolleté area using circular motions. Remove product and residue using warm water or a clean damp muslin cloth (provided).
The texture is more like a face cream when you reach into the pot. It feels like a light almost whipped thick gel cream texture, with a hint of chunky texture as well. Feels and looks natural, not overly processed. It feels like a face cream going on, but once you rub it in you can feel the oils in it for cleansing. It feels really refreshing going on. The smell is amazing. Seems to be the Kat Burki smell. Like Omorovicza has a same smell in all of it’s products. The Kat Burki smell is fresh, light like a cucumber but slightly sweet and floral. It’s a fantastic scent that I’ve noticed is the same in all the other Kat Burki products I’ve tried so far.
Just because it feels refreshing like a cream doesn’t mean it’s not effective as an oil based cleanser. It works and takes off makeup like an oil based cleanser, but is the lightest oil based cleanser I’ve ever used. I don’t wear waterproof anything so I can’t attest to that capability, but it does fine with a full face of makeup and long wearing products. It leaves no strong oily residue, you could use this alone and not need a second cleanse, or you can still throw a second cleanse in if you prefer. I’ve done both. It will leave your skin soft and hydrated, besides cleansed. No stripping here. The stuff is addicting and well worth checking out. I see more Kat Burki products in my future.
