March Samples & Empties

La Roche-Posay Anthelios XL Ultra-Light Fluid: I love this lightweight sunscreen fluid. It absorbs fast with no white cast. I love the Mexoryl sunscreen however it’s not available in the US, stupid FDA. I used to get this overseas and have it shipped to me. There’s a nice new sunscreen fluid I’m playing with that’s not hard to get and doesn’t have the drying effect of the alcohol in this Anthelios formula. I might be converting, but this one is good if you can get it. Original thoughts here and here.

Su-man Awakening Eye Lift: This is a nice light textured eye gel cream. It’s refreshing. I hate pots for packaging but I can make do. I would try it again. I did a brief intro to Su-man skincare here.

Omorovicza Blue Diamond Super Cream: This was good stuff. A heavier cream. I loved this when I lived in Montana, it’s too rich for me out here in Texas now. It’s really pricey, but really nice if you can afford it. Review here.

Crabtree & Evelyn La Source Hand Therapy: I loved this one. Bought it twice. Love the pump. No major scent, just very light. Really hydrating yet not really greasy. Small discussion about it here.

Jason Smoothing Coconut Body Wash: I liked this. I love natural coconut stuff. This was however more light citrus scented than coconut, very faint in the coconut department. It’s a creamy low lather body wash which makes it very hydrating. It’s almost like a gel cream texture, like a light lotion. It wasn’t one I really liked enough to buy again.

Swell Ultimate Volume Shampoo: I loved this one. I need a full size. It works. Sadly it’s hard to get here in the US.

Estee Lauder Revitalizing Supreme Light Global Anti-Aging Creme: This was a nice basic light moisturizing lotion/cream. I liked it.

Tata Harper Skincare Beautifying Face Oil: I love Tata Harper, I loved this facial oil it’s decently priced for Tata Harper as well. I do prefer their Replenishing Nutrient Complex more. However, it’s twice the cost. I like the other better because it’s lighter textured and more concentrated. Basic discussion here.

Clinique Fresh Pressed Daily Booster: I’m not fond of the packaging, see the review here for why. Love the product and it’s brightening effect. I would rebuy.

Omorovicza Elemental Emulsion: Love this stuff. Algae and all kinds of good natural ingredients. It’s a really light textured lotion, almost serum, that’s great for Summer or layering for a boost of hydration. I would rebuy. Review here.

Glamglow Volcasmic Matte Glow Moisturizer: Eh, this was OK. Smelled like vanilla cake. It wasn’t really mattifying and was heavier than I thought it would be. Was like a hydrating primer cream that had a matte finish-meaning not shiny, but still wasn’t mattifying.

Pacifica Indian Coconut Nectar Hand Cream: Loved this, hydrating with a warm vanilla coconut scent. I would grab it again.

80 Acres Blood Orange Hand & Body Lotion: I preferred this as body lotion, it wasn’t enough for my hands. See basic thoughts here. It’s not on my list to rebuy.

Drunk Elephant C-Firma Day Serum: Love this. Staple Hero Product. Review here and I plan on making an updated review as I feel I’m better at doing reviews now than I was 3 years ago. I buy this all the time.

Sisley Energizing Foaming Exfoilant Body: This was a weird foaming creamy body scrub style product. It lasted one use, was just OK for me. It’s Sisley so I’m sure it costs an arm and a leg, and for the price it wouldn’t be worth it to me.

Estee Lauder Sumptuous Extreme Lash Multiplying Volume Mascara: Liked it. Voluminous mascara with a detail tapered brush.

Ormonde Jayne One: Love it. Ormonde Jayne is just fabulous. They’re a UK perfumer and I love their scents. One of my favorite niche brands. This one is sadly only available at Selfridges in the UK currently, which means no availability here in the US. It’s a girly but not too girly powerful scent.

Olivine Atelier Amongst the Waves: This was OK. My sample oxidized quickly and turned brown, not sure if bottle would do that. Nuxe Prodigieux is similar.

Chanel Hydra Beauty Micro Gel Yeux Intense Smoothing Hydration Eye Gel: This was OK. The texture was like water. Oddly this pilled on my face. I wouldn’t buy it. I want to love Chanel skincare, but it’s French and too strongly  scented for me.

Perricone Md Face Finishing Moisturizer: I love this cream. It’s lightweight and makes my face feel soft as a baby’s butt. It’s affordable as well. I recommend.

Sephora Express Eye Makeup Remover Wipe: This is OK, the wipe is a bit dry. I wouldn’t buy it. It looks removed from Sephora’s website, so must be discontinued.

Sisley Paris Eau De Campagne Body Lotion: This was by far my favorite of the body lotions I’ve tried from Sisley’s subscription boxes. Great lightweight texture with a light green non-powdery perfume scent.

Sjal Orbe Eye Contour Crème: Liked it. Very light in texture, good for day.

Cle De Peau Beaute Intensive Eye Contour Cream: This was a heavy cream suitable for night. I liked it, but I would never pay the exorbitant price they ask for it.

Shiseido Facial Cotton: Love these, staple cotton pads I use time and time again. Cheap, but just as good as Cle de Peau in my opinion(same company owns both brands anyway so likely same manufacturer).

Pureology Cleansing Condition: This was OK. Hydrating. Good if you don’t have a huge ton of build up or oil in your hair that needs removed.

Alterna Caviar Brightening Blonde Conditioner: This was OK. Light purple tint, usual heavier Alterna Caviar hydration. It’s not heavy, but it’s not lightweight. I’m not sure I would go for it again. I wouldn’t say no if it showed up on my door.

Kiehl’s Amino Acid Shampoo: Loved this! Lightweight gentle shampoo. Smells like coconuts. All natural ingredients with no SLS. I would get it again.

NUXE Reve de Miel Lip Balm: This used to be my night balm until I met Sisley’s Nutritive Lip Balm. Basic thoughts here.

Perricone Md Pre Empt Series Oil-Free Hydrating Cream: This was nice. A medium weight face cream with no scent.

Drunk Elephant Lippe: Loved this. Hydrating, great ingredients. Review here.

MAC Raven Kohl Power Eye Pencil: This has been one of my staple favorite eye pencils for years. Love the soft black with red pearl. If they could make this shade in Armani’s Silk Pencils formula I would die happy. The MAC texture can be a bit harder to work with. It’s stiffer and drier. It’s limited edition and no longer available,  however it comes back into stock with certain holiday collections.
