November Samples & Empties: Part 2

Time for the November Samples & Empties Post. I split this month into two parts. Quick thoughts about each starting above.

Bioderma Sensibo: This is my favorite micellar water. It removes my eye makeup and doesn’t sting. It’s a hero product. Review HERE.

Skin Owl eye+: I like this gel textured eye soother. I love the ingredients. It’s not hydrating enough for me alone so I have to layer it. Review HERE.

January Labs Advanced Eye Technology: I loved this. It’s lightweight texture is perfect for day use as it absorbs quickly and it’s hydrating enough. I love the light fresh scent. I would rebuy. More to come in review soon.

Perricone MD High Potency Face Firming Activator: I wanted to love this as Caroline Hirons loves it. I’m happy it was an Ulta rewards purchase as I got it for free. It was just too strong for me. The creamy texture was hard to work into a day routine and this is a day product. It made my skin feel sensitized so I quit using it. I made it through 3/4 of the bottle.

Drunk Elephant TLC Night Serum: I love this exfoliating serum. This was my go to for years. It’s the only glycolic that’s a higher percentage that doesn’t really sting or irritate my skin. Review HERE. I only put it to the side to test non-glycolic and I’m getting more into acid toners versus serums right now. It’s easier to layer.

Kat Burki Retin-C Treatment Complex: I loved this. The extreme lightweight texture sinks in quickly no heavy creamy retinol formula (I hate those kinds). Best of all this one combines vitamin C and retinol. The retinol was non-irritating and it worked beautifully. This will absolutely be on my purchase list when I’m ready to buy another retinol serum. This was my favorite retinol find of 2017.

Herbivore Botanicals Blue Tansy Mask: I want to love this. I love blue tansy, I like the gel formula. I hate the cooling sensation it gives off. I’m not a fan of that effect. Love the brand & ingredients. Just not for me.

OSKIA Get Up & Glow: Love the brand. This was my second bottle. It’s perfect for a hydrating slippery radiance giving serum. Review HERE. I would buy again.

Zelens Satin Primer: I will say even though this was Zelens I wasn’t into it at first. I was into the matte one more. This one grew on me and actually I think is my favorite of the two now. Mildly hydrating primer that gives you a satin finish. So not too matte, not too dewy. Plus it has skin loving ingredients. Review HERE.

Innisfree The Green Tea Seed Serum: This was my second bottle. I love how cheap it is for a large bottle. Love the green tea seed ingredient. The slightly stronger scent is mildly irritating to me. I’m on the fence with whether I would buy again or not. I’m on the hunt for new serums to try instead. Review HERE.

Tata Harper Aromatic Irritability Treatment: I like Tata Harper’s oils. This one was OK. I have a hard time using it in the day because it messes with my scent of the day. I tried using this at night to avoid that. I really prefer her Bedtime one the most. I would repurchase the bedtime oil not this one.

Alpha-H Essential Cleansing Balm: This was OK. I wanted to love it as I love the brand. It was a thicker oil gel balm similar to OSKIA’s Perfect Cleanser which isn’t my favorite. I like a slightly more gel textured balm. This was like thick Vaseline.

Amore Pacific Vintage Single Extract Essence: Loved this vintage green tea toner. Watery texture sinks right in. No scent which is great as a lot of Amore Pacific’s stuff can be too scented for me. I bought a big one.

Tata Harper Illuminating Eye Cream: I wanted to like this. Too much shimmer for me. The texture is light, I had to layer this as it doesn’t have enough hydration alone for me. I would not buy a big one.

TULA Purifying Face Cleanser: I really wanted to like this. I like the gel texture of the cleanser. The scent is what got me. So strongly perfumed. I couldn’t finish my sample as it smelled like shampoo or something.

Benefit Roller Lash Mascara: This was OK. I didn’t like the wand that much. It wasn’t for me.

Fresh Soy Face Cleanser: Love this stuff. Gentle almost scent free gel cleanser. I never have to buy a big one cause I’m always getting samples from Sephora. But I would buy a big one.

R+Co Badlands: Eh. Terrible. Pasty thick paste for dry shampoo? I had such a hard time getting this to work for me enough to even try to enjoy it. Love the brand, I’ll skip this one product.

Josh Rosebrook Active Infusion Serum: I liked this oil. I bought way too many recently to need to buy another. But I might grab one next year we’ll see.

Malin+Goetz Vitamin B5 Body Moisturizer: I liked the hydrating medium texture of this. It was really hard to get out of the stupid sample tube but that was about it.

Origins A Perfect World SPF 20 Eye Cream: I wanted to like this but it was too thick, also was drying from the zinc I’m thinking. I’m not a big fan of SPF built into my moisturizers, I want to mix it the way it works for me.

Kat Burki Rose Hip Revitalizing Serum: I love this stuff. A hydrating gel kind of serum. I would consider buy a big one once I’ve plowed through my stash of serums.

Deva Curl Melt into Moisture Mask: This was OK. I only have it because Sephora Play! seems to send me stuff for curly hair when I only have slightly wavy hair. I used it after dying my hair as a deep conditioning mask. It didn’t stand out enough to me to want to buy it.

Kat Burki Hand Therapy: I love this hand cream. Hydrating without being too much. Love the Kat Burki cucumber dream scent.

Tata Harper Boosted Contouring Eye Mask: This is a really heavy oil balm style mask. I wanted to love it but it’s so thick to work with. I liked my Sisley better.

it Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Illuminator: I have yet to find an it Cosmetics product I like. This was like thick spackle. I didn’t like it at all. It covered OK, but the dewy spackle finish wasn’t appealing to me. Too thick.

MAC Impeccable Brow Pencil Blonde: This was my go to pencil for years until they discontinued it. The blonde shade was perfect for me. This was my last one and I’m still searching for that perfect shade of blonde pencil.

Kypris Antioxidant Dew: I’m working on a full size. Review coming shortly. Love the slippery hydrating antioxidant packed serum.

Yes to Cucumbers Facial Wipes: I love these. These were my go to ten years ago to remove face makeup before bed (yes I was one of those a long time ago). Now that I know better (and my skin looks better since I stopped that habit) I only use these for removing swatches of makeup on my arm. They’re gently and smell like cucumber. Not oily.

Mantra Mask Unleash Collagen: I loved the hydrating serum in this sheet mask. I hate sheet masks in general. They just never fit my face well. The eye holes in this one are tiny but I know they’re fixing that. I just cut them open some and it was fine. I love the serum inside it was quite nice. If this was in a bio-cellulose style sheet mask with bigger eye holes I’d probably like sheet masks.

Neogen Lab Bio-Peel+ Lemon: I like this little single use peel whenever I get a sample of it. It’s got a slightly hydrating oil feel. Smells like citrus.

Erno Laszlo Firm & Lift Firmarine Lift face Mask: This is a rubber style mask. It’s hydrating for sure. Like an instant face lift for a day. I hate the foaming dripping style rubber feel of it. Like it’s going to fall off my face before it sets. I probably only need 3/4 what comes in it but once you mix it you have to use it. These are about $20 a single use which is quite pricey. I doubt I would buy (I got this pack from Influenster) but I do like it for a special occasion.

MILK MAKEUP Blur Liquid Matte Foundation: The shade in the sample card weren’t quite right for me.Too gold. It was OK. Matte, heavy. Not my favorite in a foundation.

Manyo Factory Herb Green Jelly Skin: I liked this hydrating jelly/gel. I would consider buying a big one.

Blithe Energy Yellow Citrus & Honey Patting Water Pack: I liked playing with these in the shower. I doubt I would buy a big one as one I don’t have anymore room in the shower and two I just prefer an acid toner to this one.

La Mer The Soft Fluid Foundation Neutral 22: I love this foundation. Every now and then I play with the lighter shade if I get it in my hands. I normally use Beige 32. Review HERE.

Elemis Fruit Active Rejuvenating Mask: This was a mild creamy exfoliating mask. I liked it OK. I have so many similar things I don’t need to get it. I like my OSKIA better.

Dr. Jart+ Water Fuse Ultimate Hydro Gel: Slippery hydrating gel serum. It was OK. I prefer other brands more.

Fresh Vitamin Nectar Face Mask: I finished a full jar of this and have a few samples left. I do like the fruit acids they’re nice and they work. I hate the chunky texture. I use this in the shower. I wouldn’t get another. Review HERE.

Charlotte Tilbury Mini Miracle Eye Wand Shade 3: The serum side is a light creamy serum. The other shade is a peachy kind of darkness concealing product. I found I had to use concealer after anyway so I would skip getting a big one.

BareMinerals BarePro Natural 11: This was OK. Liquid foundation. Nothing bad about it I remember, nothing stood out that made me want to grab it.

Sunday Riley Good Genes: Love this stuff. Lactic acid goodness. Review HERE.

Dr. Jart+ BB Beauty Balm: This was way too pale and grey toned to even remotely work for me. No thanks.
