Omorovicza Acid Fix

The Hungarian spa brand Omorovicza is always somewhere in my skincare stash as I adore the brand. One of their newest releases is Acid Fix. I’ve been dying waiting for Omorovicza to release any kind of acid serum or toner. Details per Omorovicza:

A multi-purpose treatment, Acid Fix exfoliates, peels, resurfaces, brightens and plumps the skin. Combining a potent blend of AHA and BHA acids, it helps to reverse the damage caused by sunlight, pollution and acne for a glowing and more youthful complexion.

Directions At night, apply two to three drops after your evening cleanse, follow with your usual moisturiser. Use 2 -3 times weekly. Slight irritation may occur and indicates the product is working. When using acid products, always avoid sun exposure.

Active Ingredients

  • Australian Caviar Lime Extract helps to perfect skin appearance to soften and smooth while improving luminosity.
  • Glycolic acid, a powerful exfoliating AHA, reveals a brighter, clearer, younger and more even-toned complexion.
  • Salicylic acid, also known as Beta Hydroxy Acid, exfoliates the surface of the skin leaving it smooth and soft and also enhances cell renewal and improves pigmentation issues.
  • Lactic acid refines and smoothes the micro-relief of the skin to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
  • Sodium Hyaluronate delivers moisture and increases moisture retention for skin that is soft to touch.
  • Omorovicza’s patented Healing Concentrate delivery system leaves skin firmer, more supple and younger-looking.

Acid Fix is packaged in a frosted glass bottle which is the Omorovicza standard. It does come with a dropper top which is not my favorite (that’s the only thing I would change to a pump). The serum has a slightly thicker gel serum texture. It has a very light fragrance like the typical Omorovicza scent. It’s never overpowering or too bothersome for me. This acid serum has a nice hydrating texture. It never felt too strong-no tingling/stinging/burning for me. I experienced no side effects from using this.

Acid Fix uses a multi acid approach. It contains glycolic, lactic and salicylic acids. I love multi acid serums as they are well rounded and really tackle multiple issues. They work better for me as well without being too strong or feeling harsh on the skin. I confirmed with Omorovicza that this contains 8.4% glycolic and 0.5% salicylic acids. That makes it just enough glycolic to exfoliate well but still be gentle and not overpowering. Glycolic acid is an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA).

AHA (glycolic, malic, tartaric, mandelic, citric and lactic acids) benefits: Helps with sun damage, adds moisture by binding water to skin, removes upper layer of skin revealing more even, smoother skin, promotes cell turnover. This helps with pigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles as well as reducing pore size. Overall, it’s your anti-aging acids. Glycolic acid can be drying to the skin and cause irritation (burning, stinging, tingling). Glycolic acid is the smallest of all the AHAs which is why it can be irritating. People with sensitive skin may want to test out the product containing it first. Lactic acid is a bit larger molecule and more gentle with less side effects.

Salicylic acid is a beta hydroxy acid (BHA) benefits: Best for acne and breakouts, large pores, black heads, it’s anti-inflammatory,  and antibacterial which can make it good for rosacea as well. It really unclogs oils in the pores and helps reduce oil overall on the skin. Think of it as the acid that removes all the glue stuck in your pores to clear them out. It’s not just for acne sufferers.

This well rounded acid serum also uses sodium hyaluronate and glycerin to hydrate the skin. The caviar lime extract provides natural AHA as well. I find the natural versions are nice because they’re more gentle. I was able to use this every night no problem. Meaning no irritation or side effects. Suggested use is 2-3 nights a week. I think as this is below 10% most people could use this daily especially if you’re a more die hard acid user and your skin is used it. Sensitive skin should always proceed with the usual caution.

This gave me a nice hydrating easy glow. I loved the simple inci list and as always great Omorovicza ingredients. It was gentle and effective at the same time. I always love a well rounded acid serum. I can see this one being in my skincare line up for a long time. I do need an Omorovicza acid toner in my life as well (hint hint Omorovicza).
