ORIBE Matte Waves Texture Lotion: Review

I love texture and wave sprays. I’m too lazy to dry my hair with a hair dryer. Not really too lazy, I don’t have the time as well as I actually prefer the wavy air dried look provided by wave sprays. However, I don’t like how they dry my hair out. I loved the idea of Oribe’s new Matte Waves Texture Lotion.

Per Oribe: Get salt-spray waves, sans dryness. This medium-hold lotion coaxes matte-textured pieciness out of even the finest hair, adding grip to styles and a beachy allure.

Benefits: Light lotion formula encourages “salt-spray” waves and texture. Ideal for creating starchy matte texture and adding grip for styling (e.g. braids). Distributes easily throughout the hair. Won’t dry hair out. Matte finish with medium hold. Color and keratin treatment safe. UV protection for hair. Vegan, cruelty-free and gluten-free.

It’s a lightweight lotion that adds texture and body. It gives my hair the same beachy feel and waves as a salt spray, yet it’s not drying and makes my hair feel soft and bouncy. Very nice. One of my favorite products from 2016. It’s pricey at $42 for 3.4 fl oz, as all Oribe is. No strong scent, just a light pleasant Oribe smell.

Ingredients:

Oribe Signature Complex (Watermelon, Lychee and Edelweiss Flower Extracts) defends hair from oxidative stress, photoaging and the deterioration of natural keratin all while protecting from the drying, damaging and color-depleting effects of the elements.

Wave Resin Complex provides texture, style retention and hold while controlling frizz.

Yacón, a tropical plant native to Peru, delivers nourishment to the hair.

Brazilian Nut Extract, high in fatty acids and Vitamin E, protects the hair from damage and the elements.

Tara Plant heals damaged hair by moisturizing and thickening strands.
