OSEA Malibu Anti-Aging Body Balm Review

I discovered OSEA Malibu skincare late last year. I’ve loved the majority of stuff I have tried from them, so I decided to check out the new Anti-Aging Body Balm they just put out. OSEA Malibu is a natural skincare line based on sea ingredients. This product is supposed to be for normal, dry and mature skin types. This is from OSEA’s website: Nourish and tone the skin with this luscious, silky, sea-mineral enriched body balm. Alaria Esculenta marine extract improves the skin’s elasticity and Macrocystis algae is high in iodine, vitamins and minerals to heal sun-damaged skin and prevent wrinkles. Botanical Coconut and Babassu oils are readily absorbed and rejuvenate dry, flaky skin leaving behind the scent of paradise. Shake bottle before using for best skincare results. Omega fatty acids, sea minerals and antioxidants deliver concentrated cell repair and improve the skin’s elasticity, while peptides fight the signs of aging and botanical oils nourish dry skin, and treat psoriasis and eczema.

The main ingredients are: coconut oil, safflower seed oil, Alaria Esculenta(kelp) extract, red marine algae extract, seaweed extract, lemon peel oil, grapefruit peel oil, basil oil, geranium flower oil, lavender oil, jasmine oil, passion fruit seed oil, rice bran oil, acai pulp oil, babassu seed oil, sunflower seed oil, coconut oil fatty acids, water, vitamin E and rosemary leaf oil. The retail is $40 for a 6 oz glass bottle with pump. The packaging is great, perfect for an oil, I hate the sprays and cap style body oils as they are messy.

I thought this was going to be a super rich body cream, but after first pump I see this is really a body oil. It has a slightly milky color, but it’s a thicker oil, and it’s honestly the most moisturizing thing I’ve ever put on my body. It beats Tata Harper’s Body Oil, which until this point was the thickest & heaviest body oil I own. The next morning my skin still felt moisturized and great, which is rare, most lotions and oils are gone by the next morning and I feel dry. This was also the greasiest thing I have ever put on my body. It took a while to absorb, hours. So don’t use right this before bed unless you don’t care about your sheets. I can see this being great for someone who is really dry and not for anyone who has body acne or oily body skin. This also could be great just as a treatment for elbows or knees, or maybe dry legs & arms but not the whole body, or maybe as a hand treatment.

This is what it looks like pumped out, like an oil:
