This is the September box from the Le Metier de Beaute VIP Subscription Box. This month they teamed up with Rachel Anise aka Beauty Professor. This box premieres a sneak peek at the new Hydra-Plump Lipstick X in shade Beauty Professor.
The newest skincare colour hybrid–Hydra-Plump Lipstick X. The revolutionary collection of statement-making hues and trend-setting, sexy nudes hug the lips with vivid colour and impart a silky-smooth consistency, penetrating lips with moisturizing benefits. Lips will appear fuller, smoother and more youthful after each use. Key ingredients include Hyaulronic Acid, Volulip and Vitamin E.
Enjoy your your exclusive first look at the collection with an exclusive shade, designed especially for Le Metier de Beaute’s VIP Program by Rachel Anise. “I designed this shade of Le Metier de Beaute’s Hydra-Plump Lipstick X to be the quintessential nude lip…not too dark, not too light with just the right mix of peach and pink. It possesses creamy, full coverage and plumping capabilities in a universally flattering shade.”
The lipstick comes housed in a sleek black case. The cap closes magnetically. The case is actually quite long and weighty. No lightweight package here. It feels luxe. The color is a light medium creamy nude pink. No shimmer. This looks more nude pink in the tube but once on my lips it looks more pink pink. Very Beauty Professor shade if you follow her blog. It’s not warm by any means, it’s pretty neutral.
Overall, it feels like a light medium neutral pink more than a nude pink. It also depends what on your definition of nudes and pink are as well as your nude preferences. It should work for a wide variety of people. These pink shades tend to be popular. It was the perfect depth for me, not too pale nor too deep. To be my perfect nude it needed a touch more of a nude peach tone. That’s why it’s her perfect nude and I’m sure it’s many others as well.
The formula is thin and lightweight. It’s hydrating and very comfortable to wear. It has a satin finish that’s not glossy. The pigmentation is pretty good. It’s not your fullest coverage lipstick, but its not medium or sheer either. It’s most definitely hydrating and creamy while remaining lightweight with higher coverage. A lot of people will love this satin creamy formula.
This formula definitely plumps the lips. It feels like minty products do and tingles like the majority of these style of products. However, there is no mint. Volulip just tingles and cools the lips like mint does. This formula smells faintly like flowers. I usually hate lip plumpers because they irritate my lips. I don’t like lip plumping products in general. This one was OK for me, no big irritation or issues. Maybe because this one is a lipstick, not a gloss, and has other hydrating ingredients like coconut oil, hyaluronic acid and vitamin E.
Volulip is produced by Sederma– An active substance containing a plant Portulaca “ Kiss-mequick”
extract, associated with a natural modified matrikine-mimetic peptide, whose main activity is to stimulate hyaluronic acid synthesis. It’s not mint. I think this will be a popular product with many. If you like pigmented creamy satin finish lipsticks with a lightweight texture you’ll like this as long as you’re OK with the lip plumping part. I’ll be curious to see if they release this color in the general launch whenever it comes out.
