SUQQU Eye Color Palette 01 Toutouseki: Review & Swatches

I’m working on getting my Spring SUQQU posts together, but I’d like to test the items longer. Since I’ve been in a SUQQU mood the last few weeks I figured I would finally review this Eye Color Palette in shade 01 Toutouseki. This is a permanent trio. I talked about a limited edition trio EX-05 here.

If you haven’t heard of SUQQU it’s a Japanese high end brand. Taking its name from the Japanese word meaning ‘posture with attitude’, luxury Japanese beauty brand SUQQU focuses on enhancing your radiant beauty. Take inspiration from the Japanese cultural tradition of inner composure and serenity with the range of SUQQU make-up including luxurious brushes and luminous foundations.

The shimmer is usually complex and wearable which is part of what makes it so popular. It’s limited availability adds to it’s mystery and the popularity. It’s available in Japan at counters and in the UK at Selfridges, Harrods and Fenwick. Selfridges.com is the easiest place to order from if you’re an international buyer. It’s cheapest at the UK locations, if I buy from a mark up site in Japan like Ichibankao it’s much more expensive. If you live in the UK you’re probably better off going to a counter as they have stock and Selfridges online is always sold out. I happened to get lucky and got this one at Selfridges online for $37.

Details per Selfridges:

The eyeshadow palette from SUQQU contains innovative silicon-coated powders and amino acid-coated pigments developed to promote healthy skin. Designed for a long-lasting finish, it spreads smoothly, giving depth and beautiful gradation onto the lids to bring out your eyes.

The Eye Color Palette has three shades, the two bottom ones are the soft shimmers and the top shimmer highlight is a more glittery highlight. It contains micro glitter. Toutouseki contains a pale lilac shimmery highlight with matching micro glitter, a shimmery medium pink with a hint of peach, and a shimmery medium deep neutral brown.

The shades are all pigmented and smooth like silk. I like layering the brown on first then blending the pink into the brown. It lightens it a touch and adds depth. I don’t usually wear pink alone so that’s why I like layering it. I depotted it and use it quite frequently. SUQQU palettes are ridiculously easy to depot. No heat needed just pry the pan out with a knife, or I use a depotting tool. The shadows last almost all day on me. After 8-10 hours I get fading. If the lilac didn’t have the micro glitter in it I would be a fan of the whole palette. I basically use it as a duo. It’s a fabulous duo. Try one and you’ll get addicted to the refined shimmer and easily layerable texture.
