TATCHA The Dewy Skin Cream & The Essence

I’ve been slowly getting more into TATCHA skincare. I started with The Essence then grabbed the new The Dewy Skin Cream. I’ve grabbed two new creams and the serum but those reviews are for a later date. The Dewy Skin Cream is the newest cream to the TATCHA family. Perfect for drier skin this rich cream gives an amazing glow. Details per TATCHA:

A rich cream that feeds skin with plumping hydration and antioxidant-packed Japanese purple rice for a dewy, healthy glow. Ideal for dry skin, but can be used on normal skin for those who prefer a richer texture. This cream intensely hydrates and seals in moisture, helping to replenish ceramides for a healthy bounce and instant luminosity. A fermentation of Japanese anti-aging superfoods — green tea, rice, and algae — helps skin to look its most beautiful at any age.

Key Ingredients:

Japanese Purple Rice Purple rice, an ancient precious rice first beloved in Japan, packed with nutrients and known for its ability to survive any harsh environment, has long been used to celebrate longevity and vitality. Rich in anthocyanin, a strong antioxidant, it helps skin recover from and protect against stress, pollution, and UV damage for healthier-looking skin.

Okinawa Algae Blend + Hyaluronic Acid A special blend of Okinawa algae and hyaluronic acid captures water to help replenish skin’s natural moisture reservoir, immediately leaving skin soft, comforted, and deeply nourished. It also helps to replenish ceramides to ensure optimum skin barrier function, aiding in the reduction of future moisture loss, for skin that is visibly smooth and plump with hydration.

Botanical Extracts A blend of extracts and oils from ginseng, wild thyme, and sweet marjoram nourishes skin, enhancing its natural ability to retain and release moisture as needed, and imparts a dewy glow.

Ingredients

First off with TATCHA one must always mention the packaging. It’s always stunning. The Dewy Skin Cream comes with a spoon that fits into the lid. Genius. It’s like looking at a little present every time you open it. The Dewy Skin Cream is rich but not greasy. It’s nourishing but not super heavy or occlusive feeling. It is the richest of all their creams. I really enjoyed this as a day cream during the winter but it has to be a night cream for summer. It leaves you with an intense dewy glow. Your skin is plumped and hydrated for hours after using.

It’s got the TATCHA Hadasei-3 which is the trio of green tea, rice & algae. This cream has antioxidant Panax ginseng, soothing mallow, gold and sodium hyaluronate. This cream has a light refreshing scent. It’s a fresh slight citrus scent. If you want a cream that intensely nourishes & hydrates without being too greasy, this one is for you. It will make you a glowing dewy goddess. Oily skin may want to get a sample, this rich cream may be too much for you. I never broke out using it or anything. It’s very dewy and rich. In the winter this one is perfect for me.

I love essences. They’re one of my favorite things in skincare to collect. The Essence by TATCHA is an excellent specimen. Details per TATCHA:

A daily 7-second ritual to reveal your softest, most youthful skin, delivering:

  • Anti-aging: Pure, 98.7% Hadasei-3™, a concentrate of nourishing Green Tea, Rice and Algae, Japan’s three essential nutrients for skin health and youthful radiance.
  • Smoothing & Resurfacing: The natural fermentation of these nutrients produces lactic acid, helping to increase cell turnover for improved skin texture and a smooth luster.
  • Plumping Hydration: Instantly doubles skin’s natural moisture content, above and beyond the results from a moisturizer, softening & plumping fine lines & wrinkles.
  • Maximizes Performance of All Skincare: Skin’s channels are flush with lasting hydration, creating a pathway to deliver treatments that follow more deeply, amplifying their effectiveness.

Essences are a great way to add a nice light extra hydrating layer to your skincare routine. They really help plump the skin up. Honestly I thought I never needed one but once I used an essence daily, I understood it’s positive effect on the skin. It’s such an easy way to plump and hydrate plus I think everyone can benefit from an essence. This one by TATCHA has a light hydrating liquid texture. It has a nice pour spout which makes it easy to dispense. This sinks in quickly as my skin just drinks it up. It has no added scent or fragrance which I prefer.

This bottle is a little pricey (as it most TATCHA) but honestly it’ll last a really long time. It’s big and you only need a little. This has the same Hadasei-3 trio (but fermented in this case) with soy amino acids. Fermented products are broken down and easier for the skin to absorb and use. It also gives them a better antioxidant edge as well in addition to probiotics. I find fermented essences give a nice healthy, bouncy look and feel to my skin. I would repurchase this essence in a heartbeat and as of right now it’s my favorite item from the TATCHA line.
