Urban Decay has been killing it lately. I grabbed four of the new Urban Decay Naked Skin Highlighting Fluids because I was intrigued by the weightless feel with pearly shimmer. They seem to be Sephora exclusive right now, I haven’t seen them anywhere else. Details per Sephora:

Contouring can work wonders, but it’s not for everyone. Naked Skin Highlighting Fluid lets you achieve non-touring, a technique that lets you achieve gorgeous, glowing skin that never looks overdone. This creamy highlighter’s sheer, weightless formula is easy to use and blends beautifully, giving skin a dewy, lit-from-within look.
Sin: imparts a healthy-looking, champagne sheen that’s great for every skin tone
Aura: lays down a sheer pearl glow that’s ideal for any skin tone
Skywalk: an iridescent light blue that brightens the under-eye area and the inner corners of eyes
Fireball: suits medium to dark skin tones for a flawless glow on the cheekbones
Luminous: ideal for fair skin, and it can be layer under foundation for a subtle glow
What else you need to know:
Great for every complexion type, including dry or mature skin, Naked Skin Highlighting Fluid is really wearable—even if you’re not normally the highlighter type. Subtle pearlescent pigments diffuse light to perfect skin, while antioxidant-rich vitamin C and vitamin E condition and protect. Based off of Naked Skin Concealer, it’s weightless, and it can be applied anywhere you want to create a glowy, strobed effect—including the cheekbones, the bridge of the nose, and the Cupid’s bow.

I grabbed Sin, Luminous, Fireball and Aura. They come in these cute small concealer size tubes with a flat sponge style applicator. They’re a liquid highlighter with a weightless feel and luminous effect. Sin is a shimmering champagne with a gold pearly sheen. Luminous is a shimmering pearl white with a kiss of gold. Fireball is a shimmering peach with pink shift. Aura is a shimmering iridescent light pink. These are all shimmering and pearly, no glitter or frosty effect at all.
The formula is sheer but buildable. It lasts maybe 6 hours before fading. I found it weightless and easy to use. I tried both my fingers and a brush to apply. I preferred using my fingers as it removed less of my base makeup. I dotted the highlighting fluid on my cheekbones with my fingers then patted it in to blend. I repeated this to add more layers for more intensity.
I liked this liquid highlighter better than others I’ve tried in the past. I found it wasn’t as bad as others for removing your base foundation. That’s why I typically don’t use liquid highlighters. Using a brush does remove more of my foundation than the method with my fingers. Fireball is my favorite of the bunch. Luminous was a bit too light for my skin tone, best for pale complexions. Sin worked better for light to medium skin tones. Fireball could work for light to deep complexions. Depending on what effect you wanted. Aura was a bit lighter and didn’t show up on me that well, best for pale to light complexions.
I found these to be sheer and didn’t show up as strong as I thought they would be. I needed about 3-4 layers to really get a pop of shimmer similar to a powder. They were a good liquid highlighter, but not as good as cream or powder formulations for my preferences. I’m not into frosty bold glitter or anything, but I do like a good pearly sheen and these were more a pearly luminous hint of sheen.
