Urban Decay x Gwen Stefani Lipsticks: Ex-Girlfriend, Spiderweb & Rocksteady: Review & Swatches

I’m a huge Gwen Stefani fan, and Urban Decay has been killing it for a while with great releases lately, so I totally had to grab a few things from the collection. I’m very late in getting this post up. So when these first launched as limited edition shades we didn’t know about the new Vice Lipstick range that’s replacing the Revolution Lipstick line. Now that we know, you can see these are the same packaging and all these shades will be permanent in the new Vice range.

I feel this new formula is slightly glossier and thinner than the Revolution formula. The Revolution formula feels a touch thicker and creamier. I like both. I think this new formula is more emollient and will slip off a touch faster but it’s not a huge difference overall. I like the Revolution formula best for the darker creams, I like the new Vice formula for the sheer shimmer shades. I do like the thinner case of the Revolution line, it’s weighty and more luxe. This new case is lightweight and cheaper feeling. It’s also cheaper at $18($17 for the Vice line) versus $22 for the Revolution line. I actually had to exchange a few of these shades because they had trouble rolling up and down properly. I prefer the old case and shape versus the new shape. Though I do like the new price.

Ex-Girlfriend is described as a sheer nude rose with pink shimmer. That’s pretty accurate. It’s listed as being in the Sheer part of the range but with Vice it’s listed as Sheer Shimmer. Spiderweb is listed as a satin red cream. It’s listed as part of the Cream range in this line and in the Vice range. Spiderweb is a creamy classic blue based red. Rocksteady is listed as a deep wine red cream. It’s a creamy deep cooler blood red shade.
