I've talked about a few items from EIGHTH DAY on the blog but now I'm going to start diving into some of their bigger items. You've seen the Eye Renewal Cream on my Instagram routine line ups for the last few months. I saw this in New Beauty magazine all hyped up and I was totally skeptical but I wanted to try it. I'm always up for finding a good eye cream. EIGHTH DAY was founded by Dr. Tony Nakhla a dermatologic and reconstructive surgeon. The basic foundation for EIGHTH DAY is to use bio-identical proteins because the human skin requires it's own unique human molecules. EIGHTH DAY also supports international organization Women At Work. If you read on you'll find how I was pleasantly surprised by Eye Renewal Cream. Details per EIGHTH DAY:

This eye cream has a creamy texture that is easy to spread on the eye area. No tugging is always nice. I find it hydrating enough for nights even with my dry eyes. It's also not too heavy or greasy so no migrating into the eye. The pump is airless which is perfect. This eye cream doesn't come cheap at $225 but honestly it felt like this lasted forever. I think it took four months easy with nightly use to empty this bottle, it might have even been closer to the five to six mark I'd have to go look through my line ups to see. It felt like the bottle that never ended which isn't a bad thing at that price tag. This eye cream has human stem cell media (growth factors), growth factors, peptides, neuropeptides & a fair amount of great ingredients like beta glucan, niacinamide, Hesperidin Methyl Chalcone & arnica (reduce dark circles), brightening alpha arbutin & kojic acid, multiple forms of vitamin C & hyaluronic acid, goji & bilberry.
I won't get into all the peptides and growth factors. I've talked about them numerous times and my thoughts are always the same. I love peptides & growth factors. This eye cream has Dipeptide Diaminobutyroyl Benzylamide Diacetate aka SY-NAKE. That's the synthetic peptide that is made to mimic the one in snake venom. It helps relax facial muscles therefore reducing lines. I've generally found it to be pretty effective. It's also the peptide with the highest concentration in this eye cream. There are a lot of eye creams with peptides in them, even with SY-NAKE. So ultimately this eye cream came down to results for me. The texture was great, the hydration level was perfect. This delivered as far as reducing fine lines around the eye area. About six weeks into using this my eyes were much tighter and firmer. No creepiness and there was a visible reduction in fine lines. I loved the hydration level. This didn't reduce my dark circles a lot. I'm not disappointed by that and you can read my thoughts on the reality of heredity dark circles HERE. For the most part this gave my eye area the most taught, firm skin. That was it's big effect on my skin. The only other eye cream to do this for me is the African Botanics Resurrection Eye Cream.
Eye Renewal Cream reduced the fine lines around my eyes greatly and was worthy of the hype. If you want a taught firm eye area or have eye lines worthy of treating it's worth trying. It's not cheap but it lived up to it's hype. The magazines were right (which I can't always say). I'm excited to try out the face serum next. I don't like how there's no link to the clinical data on the website where it cites the results. I'd like to see that link thrown in. Overall it's a great antioxidant & peptide packed power house of an eye cream. It's got brighteners, antioxidants and line reducing/firming peptides & growth factors. The ingredient list of the cream is really quite good. It's got everything you want in an eye cream. And the results are noticeable. It lived up to it's magazine hype for me. There are far too many eye creams that cost $80 and under and do nothing more than hydrate (which does plump fine lines). That's fine if that all you want out of an eye cream. Past 35 I wanted my eye creams to treat more things than just hydrate and plump. I look specifically for peptide packed eye creams for my night one to treat lines and firmness. This one gives such a nice firm eye area with a visible reduction in wrinkles. I would absolutely repurchase. I bought this during Black Friday and it's a great time to check the brand out.
