I love Renee Rouleau products. They helped me get rid of my adult acne a few years back. I have been wanting to try the Advanced Resurfacing Serum for a while. I grabbed it during the annual sale, which happens every year in August so get ready because it's coming soon. It's the only sale they have all year long. Details per Renee Rouleau:
Advanced Resurfacing Serum is a retinol cream treatment to repair sun damage, lift brown spots, smooth the skin and reduce the look of lines, wrinkles and large pores over time. It is formulated for sensitive skin types and for those whose skin has been unable to tolerate prescription forms of vitamin A retinoids. This exceptional serum performs a synergy of anti-aging actives and has 0.4% of stable, time-released retinol to engage the retinol receptors for 8 hours while you sleep. The skin thickening properties of retinol are enhanced by a potent firming matrixyl peptide and glucosamine HCL to accelerate smoothing and brightening. These are all carried deep within the skin by a liposomal delivery system for maximum activity. The lower layers where collagen and elastin reside are encouraged to repair, while soothing extracts keep the skin feeling calm without dryness, peeling or irritation. With continued use, skin will look smoother and younger each day. If you’re serious about wanting to improve the look and feel of your skin’s texture without downtime, this retinol serum is perfect for you. The result? Beautiful, younger-looking skin by Renée Rouleau.
Key Ingredients
- Microencapsulated Retinol - 0.4% (pure and bioactive) repairs visible damage while reducing the look of wrinkles and large pores.
- Matrixl Synthe’6 (Palmitoyl Tripeptide-38) - encourages tighter, firmer skin by strengthening chain links that hold skin layers together.
- Extracts of Mugwort, Algae, Licorice - provides soothing relief to keep skin calm.
- Retinyl Palmitate - storage form of retinol for enhanced performance.
I will say this serum was slow to start. I didn't really notice much the first few weeks or so. About half way through the bottle I noticed one morning my skin just looked good. It was healthy looking, had a nice happy glow to it. My skin tone was more even and luminous. My skin texture was smoother, and a few fine lines felt plumped up. Nothing big on the fine line improvement category. The biggest bonus to this serum was the overall way my skin looked and felt--which was hydrated, happy and glowing.
So yes I would say the serum works. It's not cheap at $84.50 for an ounce, but it did last several months. And if you get it during the August Anniversary Sale it's even better. This has also been repackaged recently so it looks different than the bottle I have pictured here. Renee Rouleau has redone all of it's packaging recently and even put out some new products.
