Sisley Phyto 4 Ombres 1 Dream: Review & Swatches

I feel like I’ve been on a Sisley kick lately. Skincare and some makeup. I recently grabbed the Sisley Paris Phyto 4 Ombres quad in Dream. I admired it from afar for a while thinking it was just another nude eye quad. However, it’s absolutely stunning and I’m so glad I took the plunge. Details per Sisley:

Phyto 4 Ombres is an eye shadow quartet to express color to suit your mood and create bespoke looks. The high-tech skincare formula is enriched with plant-based active ingredients (Green Tea, White Lily, Camellia) and protects the delicate skin of the eyelids. It offers the perfect intensity of color thanks to its micronized pigments with an ideal concentration of mother-of-pearl. A unique gel-powder texture for ultra-easy, sensory application without risk of product overload. These long-lasting eyeshadows perfectly adhere to the skin, and do not settle in fine lines or in the folds of the eyelid. All make-up styles are possible, from the very natural to the most intense. Thanks to the many possible shade finishes (luminous matte, metallic, satin, etc.), Phyto 4 Ombres creates a “prismatic” make-up, which captures the light. Advantages: the magnetic case with an exclusive checkerboard design, a mirror which is perfect for touching up, and the applicator specially adapted to the texture.

The quad has an fun “S” shape to it. The colors are described as A nude-toned harmony: pearl beige, silk rose, satin copper and velvet brown. The shadows all have a pearly look to them. Not over the top shimmery, no glitter at all. Just very pearlized. I love the effect. It’s perfect for daytime. The top left is a pearl light beige. Top right is a deep pearl mahogany brown. It has a bit of a red undertone to the brown. Bottom left is a pearl medium brown. Bottom right is a pearl glowing light warm pink.

The colors on the left of the quad are more pearly than the other two shades. The mahogany brown is a bit more satin feeling but still with pearl. The glowing pink is a pearl shimmer but it’s a bit sheerer than the other shades. The other shades feel more pigmented. I am in love with the bottom half of the quad. That pink is such a good base for the medium brown. I use the pink on my lid and crease. The beige on the brow bone. The medium brown looks great blended into the pink. It really has this unique pink brown color when I do it that way. I use the mahogany brown for the ‘outer v’ and on the lash line.

Overall the effect is very neutral but has a pink brown burgundy look and tone. Very daytime appropriate but could be dialed up to a smokey eye by adding more of the mahogany brown shade. I’m smitten with the medium brown and light pink shade. I could have a duo of those two and skip the other two.

The eyeshadow has a textured geometric pattern. The texture is a thin, lightweight gel powder. It’s easily buildable and is never powdery nor heavy. I’m in love with the texture. It just feels like this pearly veil of luminous color. It lasts all day long no creasing when used over a basic primer. I like Urban Decay. This feels kind of like Charlotte Tilbury’s Supermodel Fallen Angel Quad as far as luminosity and that light texture. Except the Sisley is more moisturizing and less dry feeling.

Yes this quad is pricey. Yes it’s another neutral palette which you could probably find close dupes of. Those dupes aren’t Sisley. There’s something about Sisley even though it’s pricey. The formula is divine. It will give your eyes this luminous glow of mother of pearl shimmer in a nude color combination. The pearly glow and lightweight texture of this palette is what makes it a great addition to your nude range.

  1. I was excited to see you had this even before you did this review! I found this on a European discount site awhile ago and I love it! I would have never bought it otherwise. My thought about Sisley before was, “Oh PAH-LEEZ” The prices are ridiculous.

Well, I don't do much fancy with my eyes. I have very big blue eyes with long eyelashes. I can only do a little bit of eyeliner on top and a little mascara in addition to simple eyeshadow techniques or I look like a youtube babe. It's never been my thing because I have soft coloring so it overwhelms my look easily. This eyeshadow palette has become my go to neutral palette. It's such lovely nonmuddy browns on me and the pink and champagne color are perfect for my fair complexion. If I ever need to rebuy it, I would pay full price — and that is saying A LOT!!!

For reference, I am fairer than you and not so warm.
