Top 3: Cleansing Oils

I am a double cleansing nut at night. I’ve talked so many times about double cleansing which is the process of removing makeup and SPF with an oil based cleanser at night then following with a gel or creamy cleanser to remove the last parts of the oil and give the pores a good clearing out. It was the single most life changing event in my skincare routine. To continue on with my Top 3 posts I’ll next do cleansing oils. I particularly love a cleansing oil at night in the summer (I love a balm in the winter). A balm does the job but there’s something so sensorial about using an oil.

If I only had to have one cleansing oil for life it would be the Votary Clarifying Cleansing Oil. Votary makes the most phenomenal oil products. The Clarifying Cleansing Oil is lightweight as it’s made for acne or problem skin types. I may not be that skin type but I love the lightweight clarifying oil with rosemary and oat the most out of all the cleansing oils I’ve tried. It’s great at balancing the skin and doesn’t feel heavy. Three pumps is all I need for a soft perfectly cleansed face. This one does require a cloth to remove. Use the Votary cloth that comes with it. It’s my all time favorite flannel. The lettering does wear off which is annoying but they just fixed it and it has a new label now. Review HERE.

Kahina Giving Beauty Oil Cleanser is a great rinseable oil cleanser. The medium weight golden hued oil has antioxidant rich carrot and argan oils combined with soothing and calming chamomile, turmeric and blue tansy. A dream come true. Best part is that it doesn’t need a cloth as it emulsifies to rinse clean. So you can use this as a morning cleanse as well and not follow it with a second because it emulsifies. I love turmeric and blue tansy though I will say I don’t think it has much because it doesn’t smell like blue tansy and it’s not hugely blue tinted. Review HERE.

One of the first ever oil based cleansers I got into was the de Mamiel Pure Calm Cleansing Dew. This has a thicker almost gel oil feel to it texture wise and it has my favorite blue tansy. This cleanser has a pale clear blue hue to it. This one also emulsifies with water and rinses clean so it also makes a great non-drying morning cleanser. This one is the lightest as far as how oily it feels of the three. If you don’t like the oily feel of a typical cleanser you’ll like this one. It’s great for easing into oils. I prefer it the most as a morning cleanse now as I really want those heavier oils at night. This cleanser has an antioxidant, anti-inflammatory & antipollution design. That’s what it’s meant to help with. Its got raspberry, rosehip, prickly pear, cape chamomile & blue tansy oils plus yarrow, marshmallow, arnica, calendula, gotu kola, nettle, comfrey, horsetail & skullcap extracts to name a few. As long as you don’t hate blue tansy you’ll love it. Its light and rinses clean making it easy for many to use.
