Top 3: Cream Cleansers

Time to continue my Top 3 Series with cream cleansers. Cream cleansers are great for a morning cleanse or even as a second cleanse. They’re hydrating and great for keeping moisture in the skin. So they’re perfect for winter, dry skin or sensitive skin types as they won’t strip or dry the skin. They’re not my all time favorite category of cleansers (gel-oil balms are my favorite) but I do have a few I really enjoy as they stand out above all the rest of the cream cleansers I’ve tried.

The Omorovicza Cashmere Cleanser is a luxury creamy cleanser at it’s best. This has the most creamy luxe texture. Cashmere describes it well. It’s got apricot kernel oil, shea butter and calendula. It’s prefect for sensitive skin. It almost leaves a soft ever so slight film of creamy hydration on your face so remove with a toner if you don’t like that, but the film will hydrate a little extra moisture if you leave it on. Review HERE. I love the airless plastic pump it’s perfect because you can travel with it and it looks luxe but you won’t break it. If you want a creamy cleanser for dry sensitive skin that’s the Rolls Royce this one is it.

African Botanics recently launched its Fleur de Rose Cream Cleanser. This cleanser is a little less creamy and thick plus it works for all skin types. This cleanser has super antioxidant green rooibos tea extract, multi-tasking powerhouse niacinamide, multiple hydrators like oils, mango seed butter, aloe ferox and glycerin, plus soothing/anti-inflammatory allantoin, calendula and arnica. It’s also got Dragon’s Blood which is purifying and anti-inflammatory. So it tackles more than just being a cream cleanser. It’s got calming ingredients combined with antioxidants and some salicylic/lactic acids for natural exfoliation. I love the lighter cream texture of it and it’s been a huge favorite for me. Review HERE. This is the multi-tasking eco-luxe creamy cleanser. It is gentle but leaves less of a creamy hydrating film (than the Omorovicza) on the skin when you wash it off.

I haven’t gotten to fully review the Biologique Recherche Lait VIP O2 yet. Biologique Recherche has three creamy cleansers. The Lait VIP O2 was the one recommended to me if you live in a city as it’s antipollution and oxygenating. It helps revitalize stressed skin and is for people who live in harsh or dry climates or are near pollution. It has  thin light milky texture and is the most fluid of the three. It’s got mimosa bark, cucumber fruit & silk extracts, lactic acid, Biologique Recherche’s exclusive oxygenating complex, yeast extract and vitamin E. This is the one I use if I’m looking for removing some grime as a second cleanse or that morning one where I don’t want a heavy creamy cleanser. This gives the benefits of a non-drying creamy cleanser with the light feel of a gel. More to come in my Biologique Recherche round up.

  1. I don’t know why but BR Lait VIP 02 has been tempting me for a good while. Omorovicza is a bit of a hit and miss for me, but overall I’ve loved the brand. Maybe next time I restock my P50 toner I’ll ask if I can get a sample of Lait VIP 02! Thanks for the reviews!
