I love a good night cream. As I've gotten older my choice of night cream became more important. Yes my steady skincare routine with good serums and actives is the most important, however a good night cream really helps keep my skin plump, firm and helps my wrinkles go away better at night. As most of you know right now I don't really have cheap tastes so these will be higher priced products since we're going for my all time favorites. African Botanics Fleurs d'Afrique Intensive Recovery Cream was my first real luxury cream splurge for my 39th birthday and it's been one of my favorites for almost three years now. This eco luxe brand never disappoints me. This cream has a richer yet light lush texture, yet it's smooth and nourishing while not being too heavy or greasy. It's most definitely a night cream unless you have really dry skin or live in a dry climate. This has blue marine micro algae, plant peptides, jasmine water, aloe ferox, cape mahogany butter, gotu kola, soy protein, vitamins C & E, resveratrol, green coffee and resurrection plant to name a few. This cream has a slight jasmine meets light earthy green scent. Very natural. This cream manages to plump, hydrate, increase firmness and elasticity plus gives a really nice healthy finish to the skin. It's the perfect moisture level for me overnight plus it really plumps and firms. I am on jar two and I would consider this one the richest and most nourishing of this featured group. Review HERE.
One of my favorite lighter night creams is the Fresh Black Tea Firming Overnight Mask. This has a rich juicy plump thick texture while remaining to be light enough and non-suffocating on the skin. It has this fun thicker whipped texture yet it's not heavy in the typical whipped texture sense. It has a light fresh scent, nothing too heavy, but it does have fragrance. This has firming black tea, lychee and blackberry, belle de nuit, grapeseed oil and hyaluronic acid. It feels thick at first but really has such a nice texture. I love this the most in the spring and fall as that's when it really suits me the most. I love it's plumping and firming effect while never feeling too heavy. It's the second lightest of this featured group. What I love about this one the most is it's plumping and firming, plus something about the texture is really nice. Review HERE. Biologique Recherche Creme Masque Vernix is probably the most repairing, soothing and all time nourishing night cream. Ever. It's thick. Very thick. Yet it's not suffocating, greasy or heavy. It never breaks me out despite it's thicker texture. It smells kind of like bananas a little but it is fragrance and essential oil free. This can be used a wash off mask or as a night cream/"sleeping mask" (same thing in my opinion). It helps repair, nourish, replenish and protect the skin. Whenever my skin is having a rough or irritated moment, this solves it overnight. Every time. It's magical. Yes it's very expensive but it's worth every penny. I'm almost out and will repurchase in a heartbeat. I would put this one as the thickest texture wise of this featured group and second most hydrating or nourishing. Review HERE.
I know I do Top 3 but every now and then there's this other product that really fits in the category as well and can't be taken out. Allies of Skin 1A Retinal + Peptides Overnight Mask is the one product I can sub for any of these creams and get not only a great night cream but shorten my night routine. It power packed with actives plus retinal so I can skip a step. I use this when I'm wanting a nice easy routine. Because I use it so often it needs to be a Top 3 or hero product as well. Allies of Skin has easily been one of my favorite brands since 2017. For three years I've never tested a bad product by the brand. Everything is very well done. This has a medium weight cream texture and it's very powerful. It needs a facial oil in addition to it for me for sure. It's not as thick, plumping and hydrating as the other three but it is the best active night cream you can use and skip almost every other step. It's the lightest of this featured group. I love it over a hydrating serum, oil and then this. That's it. It should be in everyone's skincare wardrobe. I'm on tube number two. Review HERE. If I'm willing to empty and actually do a second cream that's something because creams are the one product I'm overloaded on. It's special if I'm using it a second time.
*Fresh, Allies of Skin gifted but all thoughts are my own. I have bought the Allies of Skin on my own as well.
