I’ve been playing with a few things from the ACTIVIST Skincare line. Activist is a small eco-luxe brand that donates 5% to charity from every product sold. They also make custom serums which is fun. They were kind enough to send a few things over for me to play with.
The Botanical Cleansing Oil is a cleansing oil that emulsifies and rinses clean. Details per Activist:

This is a medium weight cleansing oil. It’s gentle and contains some really great oils for balancing the skin. I love hemp & tamanu oil for their calming, balancing and anti-inflammatory benefits. It does the job without leaving a greasy mess behind. I think it’s a nice cleansing oil.

The Cleansing Balm ended up being my favorite of the bunch. Details per Activist:
This gentle, hydrating cleanser is a luxurious balm that becomes a milk with the addition of water. When massaged into the skin, it melts the day away, then rinses off effortlessly.
- Cleansers derived from coconut oil remove makeup and impurities.
- Shea butter and botanical oils hydrate the skin.
- Fragrance free.
So this cleansing balm has such a unique texture. It’s almost a gel oil balm more than a typical pot style cleansing balm. It has a thick oil gel texture. It removes makeup with ease and emulsifies for easy removal. I love grapeseed oil it’s so lightweight and packed with antioxidants. Avocado oil is soothing. Again one of my favorites tamanu oil is included. I love that they add green tea powder. I feel like the balm is the standout item from this trio for me due to it’s perfect and unique gel balm texture.

This hydrating serum is a little different. It’s more than just a hyaluronic acid serum. It contains aloe, vitamin c (hello collagen production), botanical hyaluronic acid, vitamins B5 & E, antioxidant powerhouse green tea & an amino acid blend. I love the addition of amino acids. They help give skin a boost to stimulate natural collagen production. This has a super lightweight texture and it’s very hydrating without adding any weight. You know I love tons of light layers in my routine for a moisture sandwich. I use it at night to add some extra moisture, plump me up and boost that collagen production while I sleep.
