I discovered ALKIMI and their Cinco facial oil late last year. ALKIMI is a small indie brand that around a year old. Now they have a new product added to the line. Cleansing Melt is a cleansing balm and you all know by now how I love my cleansing balms so I had to grab it. Cinco is a great oil for balancing, regenerating and providing antioxidants to the skin. It's also fragrance free. I already reviewed it fully and my thoughts have not changed so go HERE to read it.
Cleansing Melt has a gorgeous green hue and a sherbet style cleansing balm texture. Details per ALKIMI:
Designed as the first step of your skincare ritual, Cleansing Melt is a unique balm-to-milk cleansing formula that effortlessly removes makeup and daily impurities without stripping the skin of its protective moisturising factors. Hemp and Camellia work to gently cleanse and decongest, whilst a proprietary blend of Sacha Inchi, Blueberry, Perilla and Borage Seed Oils soothe the skin, offering immediate relief against the environmental stressors of city dwellers. Cleansing Melt rinses completely clean, leaving a perfectly balanced canvas for the following steps in your skincare ritual.
Directions With dry hands, take a small amount of cleanser and massage thoroughly into dry skin to break down makeup, SPF and daily impurities. To remove, add a splash of water and continue to massage the skin to emulsify the cleanser. Proceed to rinse with lukewarm water.

A sherbet cleansing balm is used to describe one that's a bit softer in texture. Cleansing Melt has a soft texture, stunning green chartreuse hue and it smells green. Not like a fresh cut green but a herbal woody green. No fragrance added just the natural scents from the oils. This cleansing balm has a medium texture and it does rinse clean leaving skin that's soft and never stripped. Hemp oil has easily become one of my favorites over the last year. Hemp oil has a balanced ratio of 3:1 of omega 6 to omega 3 fatty acids. It's high in carotene, vitamin E, phytosterols, phospholipids & minerals. Hemp oil also has gamma-linolenic acid which is anti-inflammatory. It's also non comedogenic so it's great for all skin types really but especially great for sensitive or acne/oily/problem skin types.
Cleansing Melt also has cucumber (anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, soothes), camellia (antioxidant, anti-inflammatory), sacha inchi (antioxidant, anti-inflammatory), blueberry (antioxidant, rejuvenating), perilla (antioxidant, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory), borage (anti-inflammatory, antioxidant) and broccoli (high in vitamin C and A, soothing, also called the natural silicone as the texture has a more slippery feel similar to silicones) oils.
This beautiful cleansing balm comes packaged in a black glass jar. I have to admit I'm not a huge fan of sherbet textured balms but this is the only one I keep stocked in my arsenal as it's such a great balm. The ingredients are stellar. It packed with antioxidants, anti-inflammatory and soothing oils. Plus it should be good for people with problem or oily/acne skin types. I noticed it's sold out right now but it should be back eventually. I know there might be some issues in the future with packaging and name changes for the brand as ALKIMI now has to change their name due to a larger corporation patenting the name. I would reach out to founder Natalie (@roadtoglow on Instagram)and see when it's slated to come back into stock. I like supporting an indie brand. Both products are fantastic and I know she has more well done products planned for us in the future.
*Update-Natalie has let me know that Cleansing Melt with be available again in January with the new rebranded name. It will be in a larger size with a smoother texture.
