Ayuna is a really interesting brand I discovered late 2016 in my Beauty Heroes box. It was instant love. Created by Isabel and Begoña who combined scientific and professional experience to create AYUNA. AYUNA Less Is Beauty is “An evolutionary, scientific-botanical approach to cosmetics that favors simple beauty and WELL·AGING, a concept inspired by “less is more”. AYUNA represents the commitment to pure, effective, clean and safe cosmetics.” I love the lines packaging as it’s so chic and simple yet also elegant. I love their core philosophy about well-aging instead of anti-aging. Well-aging is about promoting a lifestyle of aging gracefully and disrupting the mindset that we’re against aging. I like that they combine science with clean ingredients plus the textures and products are just phenomenal. AYUNA has the most amazing scent in all their products. It needs to be a fragrance it’s so good. It’s warm, light, clean and oh so addictive.
AYUNA has two masks, two creams, two strengths of acid toner, body cream and a new sunscreen. They also have a soap and body exfoliating treatment but I have tried neither so I won’t be commenting on those two. There’s two moisturizers: CREAM and CREAM II. The difference is how rich they are. CREAM aka Light is the lightest with a soft medium weight texture. It’s not the lightest lotion texture but it’s not heavy by any means. CREAM II aka Rich is the heavy weight cream. It’s not heavy or greasy but it is quite hydrating. I use CREAM II during the winter at night and CREAM during winter days and I also use CREAM on summer nights.
CREAM Natural Rejuvenating Treatment The emulsion has excellent sensorial properties. The formula targets a range of skin functions and expands the potential benefits obtained from botanical ingredients by incorporating the science of Phyto-peptides and Plasmas rich in Botanical Cell Factors, including those of Green Carrot, Arabian Cotton and Pomegranate. Phyto-peptidic Fractions from Turmeric Root and Centella, known as the longevity plant, favorably help the skin to maintain its regenerative abilities. This integral rejuvenating treatment melts onto the skin, leaving in its wake a soft evanescent film.

Both creams have a very similar set of ingredients they just have different textures and weights. I love both of them but overall CREAM is more versatile for me due to being able to be use year round versus just in colder months like CREAM II. CREAM II is pretty rich. It’s not heavy or greasy as in pore clogging or anything, it’s just rich and moisturizing. If I had to pick one it would be CREAM as overall I just loved it’s texture more. The scent of this cream is literally to die for. I can’t even describe it because it’s like nothing else. The site lists it as an essential oil based fragrance with: Gurjum Balsam, Holy Wood, Myrrh, Chamomile, Rosemary & Buchu.
This cream is amazing, it leaves my skin so soft plus it just feels revitalized and amazing after using this. It does increase my elasticity and radiance, softens and firms, hydrates and helps soften wrinkles/fine lines. Both are really nice creams that do provide a sensorial experience. I put CREAM in my top four favorite night creams. They’re very pricey at $198 but look out for Black Friday deals or buy one of their sets. ESSENCE was my first introduction to the brand. this is such a unique peel mask. ESSENCE High Protein Cream-in-Oil Peel An incredibly lavish cream texture that works in three phases: First as a proteic exfoliant, based in Alpha-amino acids (Aspartic and Glutamic acids), that releases potent renewing benefits when it comes in contact with the skin. Next, a gentle, grain-free gommage quickly and effectively polishes and rejuvenates the skin’s appearance. Lastly, the formula transforms into an oleo-essence finish that leaves the skin remarkably soft to the touch. The skin’s surface is refined, providing a visibly brighter, more even complexion.

Directions Apply a thick, uniform layer over the face, neck and décolletage. Allow to act for several minutes, then buff the skin by gently swiping your hands over the skin and rolling the product away. Rinse any excess and dry. Use once or twice a week.
This has a thick texture. It has the same gorgeous scent as the rest of the line. You apply this as a thick layer and it’s really best to let it sit for a while. I find 15 minutes or so is good. If you don’t let it sit long enough it doesn’t rub off as well. It’s like a gommage exfoliating style mask that you rub off. Do this over the sink as it gets messy. This mask is so unique it has three phases which you can read about above. It’s fun, unique, not too strong and yet it’s entirely effective. I love how it leaves my skin radiant and glowing after use. It also leaves some oils behind that hydrates the skin which I enjoy.
BALM was the second mask. This is a purifying mask with a pitch black color and glossy finish. BALM Volcanic Revitalizing Mask The secret of this detoxifying mask, rich in Volcanic Glass and Active Carbon, is its texture. This highly gentle balm lessens skin sensitivity, draws out impurities, and leaves the skin feeling luscious. The presence of Pullulan, a natural sugar, in the formula creates a hydrating and tightening film and enhances the skin’s natural ability to protect itself.

Directions Stir the product, then apply a fine layer over the face, neck and décolletage. Allow to act for 5 to 10 minutes, then emulsify by adding plenty of water and using gentle circular movements over the skin. Remove using warm, moist facial sponges.
Lets start with the texture. This has the most beautiful glossy black gel texture. It sets with a shiny black film while wearing. This has olive fruit oil & squalane to hydrate, charcoal, volcanic glass, lemon fruit water & probiotics. It’s a really nice detox mask. I’m really liking the hydrating charcoal masks versus clay lately. They just work better for my dry cheeks and skin type. Anyone should be able to use this mask. It should work for all skin types. This is that instant firm and lift mask that detoxes while giving a nice radiant glow to the skin. It’s a more refreshing & unique detox mask than clay. Plus it smells like heaven.

The Facial comes in two strengths: High & Low. The Facial Prebiotic Refining Concentrate A powder-in-lotion concentrate that visually transforms the skin by improving both its feel and appearance. Daily use of this colloidal acid system optimizes your complete facial beauty routine; it aids in balancing the skin’s microbiota, evens the complexion, promotes a natural glow and maintains skin health.

The Facial is AYUNA’s latest invention and it’s one of my favorites from the line. The Facial is a multi-focal treatment. It’s an acid toner plus it has pre/probiotics and antioxidants. It helps balance the skin and give a nice healthy glow. It’s really unique as it’s a powder in lotion format to help refine texture and give a radiant and healthy glow to the skin. It has a triple acid blend with raspberry vinegar (acetic acid, exfoliant, antioxidant), glutamic acid (alpha-amino acid from fermented sugar cane & yucca, exfoliant, detoxifying) & succinic acid (diacid from fermented corn, exfoliant, prevents growth of acne causing bacteria P. acnes). The Facial High has a 30% acid concentration while Low is 20%. The website lists the pH as Low: pH 4.2 – 4.5 & High: pH 3.5 – 3.7. This also has Morinda Citrifolia stem cells (prebiotic, balances sebum and microbiota, minimizes pore size).
The colloidal system has powder particles of glutamic & succinic acid which are time released. The Facial is really a unique product unlike any I have come across. You must shake it before use and it has a milky, chalky looking texture. I find Low to be super effective and was good enough for me. High could on occasion be too much for me for daily use. And I’m used to a daily acid toner. High also has a thicker texture and I preferred the more fluid texture of Low. I like to use a Klairs Toner Mate spongy pad to apply The Facial. It works great for a milky product like this. This is a really effective product for exfoliation and has extra skincare benefits. I love that it’s not just another glycolic or lactic acid toner. It’s unique.
The BODY CREAM is truly a luxury experience. I got a mini in another Beauty Heroes box and it’s truly amazing. I’m not a big spender of money on body products for whatever reason so I can’t justify the price tag on this one, but the texture and feel this gives my skin is phenomenal. If you’re really into body products grab it. It’s unique and complete luxury. VELO is their new sunscreen product that is a 6 in 1 protection to treat, hydrate, protect, even skin tone, beautify and brighten. It works as an anti-polluntant, antioxidant plus light, water, lipidic & postbiotic barrier. It’s an SPF 30 tinted mineral block. It’s hydrating and more of a cooler weather sunscreen for me. Or I could sub it for a day cream. I like it but the cost is too prohibitive for me to use this as a sunscreen all the time. It’s a luxury.
AYUNA has a truly unique outlook on skincare. I like their approach, the quality of the products is top notch, the products are effective, plus they’re so unlike anything else. If I had to pick two favorites it would be The Facial Low & CREAM Light. Those are my must haves. I like the masks a lot & ESSENCE would be my third favorite. The AYUNA fragrace is truly addicting. I really need a perfume of this scent as it’s spectacular. I look forward to seeing what AYUNA creates next.
