Deciem The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution: Review

I was so excited when I saw Deciem's The Ordinary line launch their Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution. I used to love AHA acid serums for chemical exfoliation, but lately I've been leaning more towards an acid toner and just using a retinol or night serum. I love The Ordinary products because they're simple, cheap and effective. Details per Deciem:

With 7% Glycolic Acid, Amino Acids, Aloe Vera, Ginseng and Tasmanian Pepperberry. Glycolic Acid is an alpha hydroxyl acid that exfoliates the skin. This 7% toning solution offers mild exfoliation for improved skin radiance and visible clarity. The formula also improves the appearance of skin texture with continued use.

This formula contains a studied Tasmanian Pepperberry derivative to help reduce irritation associated with acid use. This derivative is of plant origin and varies in colour seasonally and this colour variation may be apparent in the formula from time to time. The formula is further supported with inclusion of ginseng root and aloe vera for both visible radiance and soothing benefits.

Directions

Use ideally in the PM, no more frequently than once per day. After cleaning, saturate a cotton pad with the formula and sweep across face and neck. Avoid the eye contour and contact with eyes. Do not rinse off. Continue with additional skin treatments as needed. If persistent irritation occurs, discontinue use and consult a physician. (Sunburn Alert: This product contains an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) that may increase your skin's sensitivity to the sun and particularly the possibility of sunburn. Use a sunscreen, wear protective clothing, and limit sun exposure while using this product and for a week afterwards. Use only as directed. Contact of the product with the skin must be of limited frequency or duration.)

The Toner is pink in color housed in a large plastic bottle that has a precision twist tip. I love that it's not a wide mouthed bottle I can accidentally knock over. Great packaging. You get a 240 ml bottle for $8.70 which is an amazing steal. There's no reason to complain at all about that price. Not only is this serum comprised of the perfect level of Glycolic Acid(10% can be too much, 5 % too little) it has extras like Aloe Vera, Rose Flower Water, Ginseng, Sodium PCA and sugars for hydration. There's also this Tasmanian Pepperberry I had never heard of until The Ordinary came out. Claimed to reduce inflammation and sensitivity. If you read about it there's also talk of it being an antioxidant and having other anti-aging properties. Seems like another bonus-all for under $10.

So after using this for a few weeks I can say it does work, without irritation, burning or stinging for me. This may have some of those small adverse side effects to more sensitive skin types. It seems well formulated and like it shouldn't irritate most. This is exactly what I wanted Pixi Glow Tonic to be. I think this should be on everyone's must try list. Check both Beautylish and Deciem's website for coming back into stock as both are sold out at this moment. I can see why. This has easily worked it's way up to my Hero Product list and I would absolutely rebuy again. In fact I already have a backup, but I'll be buying more. I could sit here and go on all day about why you should grab this, but I think you get the picture. This is one of those products I'm thoroughly impressed with.
