Deviant Skincare Cleansing Concentrate

I’m sure you’ve seen the Deviant Skincare Cleansing Concentrate all over Instagram and for good reason. It’s quite phenomenal. Details per Deviant:

A decadent balm-to-milk cleanser that effortlessly removes makeup and daily impurities, without stripping the skin of its protective moisturising factors. Balancing Hemp and Camellia Seed soften congestion and environmental debris, whilst a proprietary blend of Sacha Inchi, Blueberry and Borage soothe against oxidative-stress caused by extrinsic factors.  The Cleansing Concentrate rinses completely clean, leaving a perfectly balanced canvas for the following steps in your skincare ritual.

You might remember me talking about ALKIMI skincare last year. ALKIMI was rebranded into Deviant Skincare. I reviewed the facial oil (which has not changed at all other than the new name and packaging) HERE. The previous Cleansing Melt has been revamped into the Cleansing Concentrate. The formula didn’t really change it was just refining the cooling down process. This new cooling down method totally changed this cleansing balm for me. Previously it was a sherbet textured balm. I liked it as the oils were nice, it’s essential oil free and it rinsed clean with water. I’m just not a huge fan of sherbet textured cleansing balms. So it wasn’t in my top favorites. I did review it HERE.

In addition to the new texture change the packaging changed. Same black glass but now each jar has a hand made wax seal. I love it. It’s really perfection for packaging. Now this balm has a lighter more melty balm texture. I adore those lighter style cleansing balms. The melty ones in particular are my favorite texture. Amazing that the cooling down process changed this so much for me. It went from ‘eh’ to ‘hell yeah’. Cleansing Concentrate will remove all traces of makeup, emulsifies and washes away clean with water, no washcloth or flannel needed. You can very much use a flannel to remove if you want to. I say it’s personal preference but it’s not required. You can use this as a morning cleanse, single night cleanse or as part of a night double cleanse. Choice is up to you as it can function well in all roles.

This is for all skin types but particularly good for sensitive skin as there’s no essential oils and you don’t need a washcloth to remove. The oils used in this balm are great for problem and congested skin types as well. I love that you can get a large size of this now. I also adore how simple in inci list is. Sometimes more is not always better.

This cleansing balm has a woody, earthy, green, nutty scent. I really like it. The green color of the balm is just killer. I love hemp seed oil. Hemp oil has a balanced ratio of 3:1 of omega 6 to omega 3 fatty acids. It’s high in carotene, vitamin E, phytosterols, phospholipids & minerals. Hemp oil also has gamma-linolenic acid which is anti-inflammatory. It’s also non comedogenic so it’s great for all skin types really but especially great for sensitive or acne/oily/problem skin types. Cleansing Concentrate also has cucumber (anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, soothes), camellia (antioxidant, anti-inflammatory), sacha inchi (antioxidant, anti-inflammatory), blueberry (antioxidant, rejuvenating), perilla (antioxidant, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory), borage (anti-inflammatory, antioxidant) and broccoli (high in vitamin C and A, soothing, also called the natural silicone as the texture has a more slippery feel similar to silicones) oils.

I am completely addicted to this balm and I would recommend it to anyone. I will be repurchasing mine when it’s empty 100%. I know the brand is working on an acid exfoliant among other products. I can’t wait to see where Natalie takes Deviant Skincare. And I need that acid toner ASAP.
