The Cream Skin Refiner has a fluid toner like texture. It’s not scented which I love (beyond natural ingredients). The liquid has a milky white appearance. It feels like a toner or light essence in texture but amazingly has this deep hydration to it. It’s soothing and hydrating in addition to feeling like it restores the skins moisture. It’s easy to layer because it’s so fluid. I love the heavyweight frosted glass bottle. Very luxe feeling. The liquid can be splashed out of it like an essence.
I’ve been using this for about three months and it was so perfect during that colder season for keeping my skins barrier happy and hydrated. I only got to play with it at the end of the cold season, I will be happy to see what it can do all winter long this year. It’s like a sleeping mask or barrier cream in a fluid product that feels super lightweight on the skin. I haven’t seen anything else like this and it’s truly unique. I think everyone should try it. It’s easy to use and affordable. It basically has cream like ingredients and white tea leaf water. White tea is high in antioxidants, anti-inflammatory and soothing.
It’s fragrance free, affordable and utterly brilliant. This is going to be a product or best find of the year I’m sure. Why use a heavy cream when you can splash on a liquid and get hydrating benefits from an easy to layer liquid? You can use a less heavy cream when you use this. There’s no pilling or heavy feeling effect you get from this like you do when you layer other creams and sleeping masks for hydration. That’s what’s so brilliant about it.
I then saw the release of the Cica Sleeping Mask and that sounded intriguing as well. Cica is another word for Centella Asiatica or Gotu Kola. Cica is a soothing and anti-inflammatory plant extract. It’s quite popular and one of my favorites. Details per Laneige:

The reason I never liked the regular Laneige sleeping mask was the gel texture. It’s not enough for me to wear alone so I have to layer it. The Cica Sleeping Mask has a more substantial cream texture that can be used in place of a night cream. It’s medium weight yet rich enough to use and last all night long hydration wise. It doesn’t feel heavy, suffocating or greasy, just rich and moisturizing. It also is fragrance free which I love as the regular water sleeping mask was a bit too fragranced for me.
Cica aka centella asiatica aka gotu kola aka Tiger Grass is a popular extract for a reason. It’s got a lot of benefits for the skin. It’s rich in amino acids, has beta carotene, fatty acids, it’s anti-inflammatory and soothing. It’s really good for anyone who has redness or sensitivity or for helping keep your skins natural barrier happy. The cica they use in this cream is called “Forest Yeast” patented by Amore Pacific. I didn’t know Amore Pacific used their own patented cica but apparently they do. You can read more on the website HERE if you want to. Madecassoside is one of the four bioactive compounds in centella asiatica. I think this cream is nice, it’s cheap and has a nice hydrating texture. I’m sure when they launch it in the US it will be really popular.
