Lately I feel like I've been buying makeup more than skincare. I go through phases back and forth. I used to be such a huge MAC lover. I remember when they launched in the US (I'm old) and it was this huge fun movement in makeup. At one point 95% of my makeup was MAC. I have since branched out quite a bit though I still love a great MAC find. The new MAC Glow Play Blush in Blush, Please is the perfect nude pink cream blush. I'm really partial to nude pinks and this one is neutral and has the most delightful bouncy texture. Think sheer to light soft satin finish buildable gel cream texture. Really great blush if you like creams that aren't too emollient. BareMinerals launched a new lipstick. The Mineralist Hydra-Smoothing Lipstick is a mineral infused clean lipstick. Its got seabuckthorn oil, jojoba & pomegranate extract. It's got a lightweight creamy satin finish. The pigmentation is pretty good and it's definitely on the more satin end versus dewy end of lipsticks so it has good lasting power. I grabbed Focus described as a muted mauve. It's the perfect nude pink. It's not the most hydrating satin lipstick but it's not the most drying either. I would put it in between. You always have to valance those two and longevity comes with less hydrating. It's a good balance.
I grabbed two new SUQQU products recently. SUQQU is one of my all time favorite makeup brands. I normally mostly get into the eyeshadows and blushes but I grabbed a lipstick from their new comfort matte range and a new shade of liquid highlighter. Vibrant Rich Lipstick is the brands new comfort matte. The formula is lightweight yet creamy and rich on the lips. Full pigment in one swipe yet it is comfortable and not drying. The uber weightless feel on the lips is really nice. I love SUQQU's slim lipstick cases. I grabbed shade 02 Nakakurenai which is a medium neutral rose. I thought it was going to be more nude pink but it's more rose and a little darker than I hoped. I absolutely adore the formula I just wish for a lighter color. This is actually the lightest color fo the bunch. If you like brights and deeper shades you'll love this line of lipsticks it's a really great formula. The Shimmer Liquid Highlighter in 01 Momotsuya is a really pretty light rosy champagne. It's out of stock on Selfridges all the time which is not surprising because they have very ow stock of the brand online in general. But if you like it save it as a favorite and keep checking, I get SUQQU stuff again all the time that way. Think of this as a fluid liquid highlighter. Great for mixing with foundation or using as a highlight. It's pretty pigmented and intense so I don't suggest it as an all over radiance base, more of a mix in or spot highlight. (I linked a similar product above it's just a different more golden version). If you like liquid highlighters you'll love it. It's got a cool chic package, it's pigmented and a little goes a long way. It dries and sets down so it doesn't budge easy.
I saw a micellar foundation when Bite Beauty did it's relaunch and became vegan and was instantly intrigued. The Changemaker Supercharged Micellar Foundation has a fun, really light almost mousse like texture. It touted as being clean & long wearing with a micellar technology that mimics skin texture. This has medium coverage and a natural satin finish. It feels mostly like a liquid does on the skin even though it has that whipped texture. It's long wearing and doesn't get patchy on me. It really feels weightless on the skin. What they can do with foundation these days just amazes me compared to what it used to be. I put this on and forget I'm wearing makeup because it looks and feels so natural on the skin. It isn't too heavy or matte in coverage or finish yet it's so not dewy either. It's really buildable and never looks cakey. I'm going to love this the most in the warmer months because it has a drier feeling on the skin. It's not matte or drying in a traditional sense, but it's far from dewy or hydrating. It's almost like how some cushion or gel foundations feel on my skin, that light feeling that never gets greasy or too dewy. It's a new kind of foundation texture which is the best way I can describe it. I love how light it feels, it looks like skin and it's never heavy or greasy feeling. Those with oily to combo skin should love it or those in a hot and humid climate especially in the winter. If you have dry skin I might get a sample first though if you layer it over a hydrating dewy primer it might be OK depending. I wear M80.
I've been using Natasha Denona since her launch in the US. The new I Need A Nude Lipstick had me intrigued. They seemed so creamy by the description. I started with Claudia described as a warm rose. That's accurate. It's a deeper medium warm rose. These do have the most beautiful creamy texture. Seriously if you like a truly lush creamy lipstick texture these are it. So comforting and hydrating and really pigmented. They smell like vanilla and the cases are a nice square metal. There's a really wide range of nude shades to pick from. My only frustration comes from the color swatches online to what you get in person. The lipstick really oxidizes and sets to a deeper color than when you first apply. I picked Claudia out in the store and actually tried it on and it seemed perfect. When I bought it and wore it out in the sunlight all day I saw how much darker and browner it became. So I hunted through the rest of the shades and it turns out Alison is my perfect nude pink from this line. I really love the formula I would just suggest you test them out good first and see how it oxidizes for you (if it does). I tend to have that problem with other comfort mates like Charlotte Tilbury too. Could just be me I'm not sure. If you like pigmented really creamy nudes I highly suggest checking them out though.
