Makeup Haul: Part 2

Recently I went on a huge makeup haul. I had to split into multiple parts. Lately I just hadn’t been wanting to grab new makeup but then a whole bunch of things seemed interesting. I love SUQQU makeup. The Japanese brand never disappoints. The new Shimmer Liquid Blush in 01 Skin Pink is a creamy bright baby pink with a nice liquid texture. It has a glass pump bottle which is nice. The builds color up nicely and layers well. This particular shade is a little too girly pink for me, though it will be perfect for the fair to light complexions. It doesn’t show up on me fully. I usually need a more neutral deeper pink nude. I hope to see them release more every summer in fun shades.

I have been completely loving the new ILIA Color Haze Multi-Use Pigment in Waking Up a warm nude. This is a super pigmented creamy blush that doubles as a lip pigment. It has a creamy liquid texture that builds pigment well. I was so surprised how pigmented this was. The product has a comfort matte finish. It’s not overtly dewy or greasy so it sets down on the cheeks but it also remains moist enough to use on the lips. Most double function products I find like this are either really hydrating on the lips but super greasy on the cheeks or the perfect semi-matte on the cheeks and super drying on my lips. This one actually works well on both. It has a comfort matte finish on the lips. I hate drying mattes so I love this texture. Plus it smells like vanilla it’s so delicious I want to eat it. I actually found I loved it the most on the lips once I tried it out and the metal applicator is perfect for that style of application. It gives a nice semi-comfort matte stain in a your lip but better medium pink nude. Total perfection.

I completely adore Cle de Peau foundations. The O30 shade is total perfection for my skin tone. Their newest foundation launch is the Radiant Cream to Powder Foundation. This, like it says, starts out as a cream and sets down to a comfortable almost matte finish. It’s more semi-matte but it’s not drying or anything. I love the finish. I get medium coverage with a skin like semi-matte finish. I love how weightless this feels. It’s not cakey at all. I normally don’t like these types of cream compact foundations because the coverage is too high and they look cakey on. This one is completely weightless and stunning on the skin. I will go over it in full eventually. I put it away a little with the summer heat but as soon as September hits it should be on frequent rotation.

Kaja Moon Crystal Sparkling Eye Pigment was such a random find on Sephora. It’s actually become one of my favorite items of the year. I literally can’t stop wearing it because it’s so good. This is a thin creamy textured eyeshadow. It’s in a squeeze tube and you don’t need much really. It sets completely and doesn’t crease. Even in 100 degree Texas heat with 90% humidity. It stays put all day. Plus it’s affordable at only $16. Totally amazing. I grabbed shade 03 Tiger’s Eye described as a shimmering taupe. That’s pretty accurate but it does have some green shimmer for depth. It’s duo-chromatic. It’s really perfection, it’s cheap, lasts all day, doesn’t crease and has amazing pigment. What else could you want?

I’ve been on such a cream eyeshadow kick lately. Always looking for that perfect one that doesn’t crease and lasts all day. I finally tried the iconic Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Shadow. I like the stick style applicator, this was easy to blend in, it’s pigmented and for the most part it lasts all day. It doesn’t set down all the way so it can feel a little tacky on the lids all day. It’s likely exacerbated by the Texas summer heat and humidity (it’s frequently 60%+). Khaki is described as a neutral taupe with pearl. It’s a pretty dark olive brown grey shade with minimal pearl. More of a satin finish. I actually really wanted this one to work for me but I disliked the tacky feel on my lids. I probably would’ve put up with it if there was a shade that was really what I was looking for-A neutral shimmering bronze, brown, mid tone. Most the shades were either too light or dark for my preference.

I also grabbed the Beauty Pie Wondercolour Cream Eyeshadow in Brazillionaire. Very similar in shape and feel to the Laura Mercier except this one wasn’t as tacky on the lids. The Beauty Pie however doesn’t dry down as well so it creases and wears off some. The shade Brazillionaire is described as a shimmering bronze brown which is accurate. The shade was spot on for me and what I was looking for. I liked layering it over the Laura Mercier in order to lighten Khaki up and give more depth as it was more shimmery.

I love lightweight foundations. I’m not into the typical heavy stick foundations so the lightweight bareMinerals Complexion Rescue Hydrating Foundation Stick is perfect for me. It has a light coverage that’s buildable to maybe medium. The texture is light and it has a dewy finish. This has such a nice refreshing cooling water like feel when you apply it. I grabbed shade Ginger which is perfect for me. They actually have a ton of shades which for a stick is rare. With the light coverage if you’re off a bit in undertone you’ll still be OK. This was a perfect summer foundation or anytime you like a lightweight refreshing foundation.

ILIA just launched a new Illuminator. I’m so into stick highlighters right now. I grabbed shade Stella by Starlight which is described as a rose gold. It’s a light rose gold shade. I find this has both a dewy kind of hydrating finish and light shimmer. It doesn’t set down so it doesn’t last all day like some other drier styles. This one isn’t really pigmented or blingy. It just adds a nice natural dewy glow and highlight to the skin. This is perfect for anyone who likes a really natural cream highlighter.
