The most interesting mask ever? Quite possibly. The name alone had me grabbing this mask last year. Every year Naturallogic releases it's limited edition LUNA mask made with fermented red wine. Details per Naturallogic:
LUNA creates an unparalleled beauty ritual experience, combined with a powerhouse probiotic + antioxidant super-nutrient you won't find anywhere else in skin care... creamy, luxurious, abundantly nutritious fermented red wine grapes. This probiotic goodness separates + settles beneath the wine during seasonal artisan wine crafting, forms over the course of several lunar cycles, and is collected at each new moon.
Due to the way fermentation causes exponential nutrient bioavailability, it is enormously rich in naturally occurring resveratrol, vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, phytonutrients, fatty acids, amino acids, mannoproteins, antibacterials, antimicrobials, lactic acid + polysaccharides. It reaches deep into skin's surface layer, infusing it with these nutrients while deeply hydrating + moisturizing, cleansing pores, neutralizing free radicals, gently yet powerfully exfoliating + breathing vitality + life into thirsty skin. It creates an unbelievable exfoliated, bright, plumpy, fleshy, healthy glow.
Combined with enzyme-rich, hydrating raw local honey, moisturizing shea butter, antioxidant + mood enhancing raw cacao, vitamin C abundant strawberry juice + rose hips, honeysuckle, and sensual jasmine + vanilla, it's a decadent, transforming experience for the skin + the senses.
You'll notice the stunning deep reddish brown color of this mask. I honestly wasn't sure what to expect texture wise when I bought this. LUNA has a creamy paste texture that ends up staying moist during wear due to the oils. That was perfect for me. I hate masks that dry down and give me that uncomfortable tight feeling. This mask is really about the sensorial experience for me. It combines red wine ferment with clay, cacao, honey, shea nut butter, strawberry juice, rosehip extract with cranberry, macadamia & raspberry oils. Throw in a little vanilla and jasmine absolute for a truly decadent experience.
The clay and honey detox while the shea butter and oils nourish the skin. Cacao is a powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory. Cranberry, rosehip and raspberry are all antioxidants as well. Honey has multiple functions as it's full of nourishing ingredients. It detoxes, moisturizes (from the sugar) plus it's naturally antibacterial to help with blemishes. The red wine ferment provides the skin with antioxidants like resveratrol, phytonutrients, vitamins & minerals. Fermented products are broken down by the process of fermentation and are easier for the body to use. Fermented products also gain new nutrient rich properties due to the process.
I love the combination of antioxidant, detox & hydrating ingredients. It's a truly unique mask unlike any other I've seen. It leaves my skin fresh and revitalized while perfectly hydrated. If you're into the sensorial experience of a mask I would highly recommend trying this one as it's one of a kind. It's limited edition and should be back out this month. There is a waitlist available online to be notified when it's back.
