Medical grade or cosmeceutical skincare is a new genre or area of skincare I've been getting into lately. There's no legal or regulation for this kind of term it's just describes a genre much like green beauty or clean beauty. One of my recent acquisitions is the Revision Skincare DEJ Face Cream. What is DEJ? It is the dermal-epidermal junction, an area of skin where the dermis and the epidermis meet that helps support the skin’s structure. As we age, this junction flattens, and skin becomes slackened increasing the visible signs of aging.
This cream is a heavier lotion or light cream depending how you look at it. I love the black metal airless pump. I've been using this primarily as a day cream right now. It could function as a night cream in the summer for me. It ticks all the boxes of being fragrance, dye & alcohol free. They also don't test on animals. This is a plumping, fine line reducing, overall skin health improving moisturizer. DEJ Face Cream is a multifaceted cream that targets aging from multiple angles. It leaves my skin with the most dreamy effect. You know that feeling when you use a cream and you want to touch your face all day long because it feels so silky, firm and hydrated? This is that cream.
DEJ has antioxidants THD Ascorbate, goji extract & vitamin e, prebiotics for skin health, peptides Acetyl Tetrapeptide-2, Palmitoyl Hexapeptide-14 and Palmitoyl Tripeptide-38 for lines & wrinkles. It also has ursolic acid and three ceramides. Ceramides are lipids that help retain water which makes them hydrating and restorative in skincare. They naturally occur in the skin’s outer layers. Ceramides help replenish those natural fatty acids when they’re lost to the environment or through natural aging. There are nine different types of ceramides.
Ursolic acid is anti-aging and anti-inflammatory. It’s found naturally in a variety of fruit and plants. Ursolic acid has been shown to prevent the development of cyclooxygenase and lipoxygenase, inflammatory enzymes that aggravate the skin. Ursolic acid has been thought to form a barrier on the skin much like a waxy coating on a piece of fruit. Ursolic acid has been used to treat photoaged skin, because it inhibits the appearance of wrinkles and age spots by restoring the skins collagen bundle structures and elasticity. Ursolic acid inhibits the action of elastase enzyme in the skin, thereby preventing the enzyme from attacking structural proteins per naringen.net. It’s even been shown to have some inhibition effects on tumor production in the skin.
Pretty much every cream or product with ursolic acid that I use I completely adore. It's easily one of my favorite skincare ingredients of all time. This cream may be expensive but it’s worth every penny. It’s got a light yet really nourishing texture, it provides prolonged moisture without any heaviness, it makes my skin feel like a dream and delivers what it promises. I don’t use it everyday yet I love it and see results. Imagine if I used it everyday. If you watch Harben House long enough you’ll find a sale to grab one. I put this in my top three day moisturizers of all time. It’s that good.
