Surratt Beauty Dew Drop Foundation

Surratt Beauty has been a long time favorite makeup brand of mine. Once I discovered it over five years ago it’s been full on love. Surratt launched a new lightweight hydrating foundation this year called Dew Drop. Details per Surratt:

Natural. Seamless. Lightweight.

This light-to-medium coverage foundation has a dewy, hydrating finish that’s ideal for everyday wear. Its unique delivery system ensures your complexion receives the optimal amount of coverage each time you apply.

This comes packaged in an airless pump with a push button bottom and narrow tip. You tilt this upside down and press the button to dispense a drop. Surratt says you only need two drops but I tend to go with around three myself. I use two drops to cover my face and then one concentrated on the cheeks, nose and chin for extra coverage. The outer packaging is the usual Surratt black with purple and green shimmer gradient. The texture is weightless and super lightweight. It’s an absolutely dreamy texture.

The finish is light and dewy. It’s hydrating but not heavy or greasy. It’s not oily and it doesn’t break down mid day. It doesn’t sit in my pores or separate after a few hours. It looks like skin and feels so light and breathable on the skin. For being really lightweight its got really amazing pigmentation and coverage. You get light to medium coverage easily from 2-3 lightweight drops. In short, the foundation is amazing. Easily my favorite of 2019. It never feels heavy and has such a great dewy skin like weightless finish. I get about eight hours out of it before fading so it’s got pretty good longevity.

I grabbed shade 6 on a whim as I wear 6 in the Surreal foundation. It’s perfect. I hear the shades are a touch different in this new range than the old one. You can see 6 in Dew Drop is a hint deeper than 6 in the Surreal finish. It not much difference, both are neutral beige shades. I prefer a neutral shade in the deepest light medium to the lightest medium in most ranges. Think NC 25-27 which Dew Drop 6 works well for. I think this foundation will work for most people and be loved by many. It’s so buildable and never looks cakey. Definitely worth checking out.

Tips For optimal results, depress the dropper to dispense 1-2 measured drops of foundation on the back of your hand. Start applying in the center of the face, where uneven skin tone is often the most apparent, or on any areas that need coverage, and blend outward onto the forehead, nose, and chin. We recommend using a brush with dense bristles, like our Artistique Foundation Brush.

  1. Hey! I’ve been trying to figure out my foundation color/undertone – which is not easy when you aren’t allowed to swatch. I did receive a sample of Armani LS in 5.5 and it’s pretty close. I saw that you swatched it above in your review. Does that mean you wear it & the Surratt dew drop 6 was right for you? I’d like to try it since it’s a lighter coverage – but their color descriptions are not helpful.

    1. I feel like Surratt 6 is lighter than Armani 5.5 which is darker. Armani 5.5 can be a tad dark for me
