Trinny London: Overview

British brand Trinny London has been on my radar for a while to try. I was sent a few things to try plus I bought a few. The line is meant to be easy, portable and versatile which it achieves. The little pots stack together (by snapping) and many of the formulations are multi-use. I instantly gravitated towards the new BFF De-Stress Tinted Serum a color and skincare hybrid. Details per Trinny London:

BFF De-Stress is an innovative tinted serum that actively defends and manages the appearance of stress on your skin while giving buildable, breathable coverage with a radiant finish.

Our NP-TriOX™ Technology (including stress-busting Neurophroline) works to tackle the short and long-term effects of cortisol while hyaluronic acid provides long-lasting hydration that plumps and smooths.

Skin is left feeling and looking fresh and energised.

I love the light coverage of this. One pump does my whole face. It has a light creamy serum texture that's not quite as heavy as a tinted moisturizer, it's more of a light foundation meets finishing serum type of product. It's a primer and foundation in one that leaves your skin with a nice healthy glow. You can add some concealer on a spot for two if you need it, but it does have nice coverage, it's not super sheer. It has a light scent that's pleasant. This gives a perfect dewy tint which evens my skin tone. It doesn't feel heavy nor breakdown mid-day. I wear shade Lucy described as a soft wheat for light-medium skin. I ended up with a sample of Binky as well with an order which is described as a sandy beige for light medium skin. Lucy is definitely more pink/peach/cool while Binky is more yellow toned. Lucy isn't perfect for me as it's a touch too pink/peach, but it's the closest overall. Binky was a touch too yellow and light for me. I like the airless pump it comes in as well. It's not as moisturizing as a tinted moisturizer so definitely think of this more as a tinted serum/primer kind of product though certainly for more oily skin it could be a moisturizer. I love the ease of use with this product and it's perfect to apply with your fingers. I did get a sample of the BFF Cream Skin Perfector in Medium. It's a cream based complexion product with SPF 30 and micro encapsulated pigments to even out your skin tone. It starts out white, turns into your shade. Light coverage and it has a super light feel on the skin. It's less dewy and has less coverage than the new BFF De-Stress.

I got of the Flush Blush shades. Details per Trinny London:

Flush Blush is our go-to for a healthy-looking complexion. The creamy formula is developed with a texture that’s easily buildable and blendable, diffusing colour seamlessly across the skin.

Electra is described as a dusty vintage rose pink which is accurate. It's a lighter shade for sure suitable for light or fair skin tones. It barely shows up on my light medium skin tone but it does add a hint of pink color. Katrin is described as a cool rose with hints of plum which is accurate as well. Both are cream and not shimmery at all. They are creamy, pigmented and leave a more semi-matte finish on the skin. I find it long lasting and easy to build up the color. I prefer to apply with my fingers. I really liked the formula, the colors weren't my favorite kind of shades for blush (I'm more a nude pink peach gal like a broken record). Electra was a hint too light and Katrin was almost too cool for me. I did really enjoy the formula and if the shades expand out I will try it again.

I received a little sample of the Lip2Cheek in Veebee a brighter coral. This has more of a dewy satin finish, it fells a bit creamier since it's used on the lips as well. It's also well pigmented and just less matte than the other formulation. I liked them I just one don't use pots for lip colors (personal preference, not a fan) so I was strictly looking at these as blush colors and I just didn't have one end up working for me. I'm a little strange though, as most people in the world love brights on the cheeks or more playful blush colors, I just am stuck in this one shade only that I love. I'm sure most of you can find a shade you like.

Eye2Eye is easily my favorite product by the brand. I absolutely adore cream eyeshadows. Details per Trinny London:

A range of moisture-enriched cream-based eye shades and liners, Eye2Eye is the ultimate eye enhancer.

  • Rich pigment gives you perfect control to create a natural or smoky finish so you can smudge, smoke, line and define
  • Intense pigment makes it easy to build colour
  • No more powder spills on cheeks, no more shadow pooling in eye corners

I was gifted a few shades but I also purchased two on my own. The formula is thin, builds easily, doesn't crease and lasts all day. It's also pretty affordable for the size you get compared to some luxury eyeshadows with similar qualities. So what I noticed about these is that they look a bit lighter and sheerer on the skin than the swatches online or the way they look in the pot. So if a shade looks dark online don't be afraid to give it a go. They have a Neutral, Dial It Up and Smoky set of colors and I tried some from all three. Mystery is a neutral shimmering taupe (I love neutral brown eyeshadows so you'll notice what I grabbed is mostly those). Mystery actually goes on a bit lighter than it looks so it's really more of a light taupe. It's a bit darker than my lids and a good base shade. If I'm only wearing one shade on my eyes I prefer it to be a touch darker in tone so I actually like layering this over Faith. Faith is described as a fawny neutral brown. Faith is one I purchased after receiving my first pots. It's a mid tone/deeper neutral brown with a hint of shimmer (far less than Mystery). It makes the best base shade. It works under all of these if you want to add a bit of depth or darkness. I also like it on the out third of the lid for depth as well. I also like wearing it alone, it's actually become one of my favorites. Faith is sheerer than it looks online but it can be built up in intensity, don't be afraid of it looking dark and vampy.

Queen is described as a rose gold caramel sparkle. Queen has a kind of rose gold caramel lightly shimmery base with rose gold micro glitter. The base is sheerer than the others. I like this one over Faith the most. It's not too sparkly or glittery but it is the only one with micro glitter out of the ones I grabbed. It's fun and I could see it being nice for a night out. I really like layering this one though. No fall out of the glitter. Magician is described as a pewter bronze. I think it really comes out on me as more of a pewter or taupe kind of shade. It's shimmery like Mystery but more pewter and a bit deeper. I also love this one over Faith to deepen it a little (noticing the pattern yet? Faith makes the best base). I also grabbed Victory described as an aged rich neutral gold. It's a shimmering mid tone gold. It's a bit warmer than I was hoping, I prefer an aged gold or antique gold. If you like golds it's nice. It's not a pale yellow gold, definitely deeper and more golden.

I use either my finger or a brush to apply these. They work great with both. It's a really easy formula to love. No creasing, easy to apply, they glide on, build color easily and blend well with other shades in the line plus they last all day. If you have one thing you try from the line grab one of these, it's the star of the brand.

I also grabbed two of the new Eyetallics shades. These are the metallic glittery shades. Details per Trinny London:

Shimmering eye shades developed for minimal effort and maximum payoff. Our Eyetallics collection, inspired by the Roman goddesses of Italy, (where our products are made) brings glamour and sparkle to every eye.

  • Creates a multi-dimensional shimmering effect with an intense pay-off as soft or as bold as you like
  • Crease-proof, smudge-proof, and long-lasting
  • Contains jojoba oil and shea butter for a buildable and blendable formula
  • Easy-to-apply cream-to-powder formula prevents glitter fallout

Fortuna is an antique copper rose while Hekate is a molten pewter-taupe. These are obviously glitter cream eyeshadows. Best applied with your finger. You can use them to top off another look or all on their own for super sparkle. They don't crease and do last all day. They're very glittery and I do find they have some fall out even though it says they don't. The formula is a bit drier than the regular Eye2Eye which is more creamy feeling. If you like glitter and sparkle you'll love these.

Top to Bottom-Eye2Eye Mystery, Magician, Victory, Faith, Queen, Eyetallics Fortuna, Hekate:

Top to Bottom-Flush Blush Electra, Katrin, Lip2Cheek Veebee, BFF De-Stress Lucy, Binky, BFF Cream Medium:

Overall I would definitely say the Eye2Eye are the star and you should be able to find some shades you like. The complexion products are really nice. They're so easy and sit nice on the skin. I want to pick up the BFF Cream in Medium next. Eye2Eye is a must have. Faith and Magician are my favorites followed by Mystery. I still want to try Emperor, Fortune, Lovers, Desire, Chariot & Empress. I have a long list. Even though I'm not into pot lip products the Sheer Shimmer Lip to Cheek in Nicole is calling me. Have you tried Trinny London yet?
