VOTARY: Intense Night Recovery

VOTARY London was one of my best 2017 discoveries. My love for them has not dwindled. If you love oils at all you must check this brand out. I love the Intense Night Oil and Votary expanded the range some recently and added an Intense Eye Oil & Antidote Night Oil.

The Antidote Night Oil is a multi-purpose bath and body oil to help you drift off to sleep better. I'm always for some aromatherapy before bed. Details per Votary:

A luxurious, multi-use bath and body oil to cleanse, soothe and hydrate parched, uncomfortable limbs.

Made from a potent blend of nourishing plant oils, it replenishes and restores and helps you to unwind. Passionflower, calendula and sweet almond deeply moisturise, and add lustrous smoothness to dry, uncomfortable skin. Lavender, rose and chamomile help to de-stress and calm you for sleep.

The bespoke formula can be added to a warm bath, used in the shower, or applied directly to your body for skin that feels smooth and supple against nightwear and bed linen. Sleep deeply and comfortably and wake with beautifully soft limbs.

Directions Add three to four pumps to a warm bath and relax and enjoy the soothing fragrance. Or, dispense into your palm in the shower and spread over your body. After either, gently towel dry and smooth over your limbs for even more intense hydration.

The Antidote Night Oil comes in a black glass pump bottle with rose gold lettering. I love the aesthetic of the night range. It's a medium weight oil that's not greasy. This oil was designed as an oil to add to bath or for body use for aromatherapy and relaxation before bed. I never get to take bath before bed so sadly I have not tried it that way. I do love to use this on my arms and chest at night before bed for the aromatherapy and relaxation.

Now this is not strong like a concentrated essential oil treatment. It's a scented body oil. I do wish Votary made a more concentrated aromatherapy version of this. The scent is very relaxing. I've always had trouble winding down at night. I went through a big period of insomnia and even saw a sleep doctor with hypnosis. I developed better sleep habits which worked for me and one savior is including aromatherapy. The lavender, rose and chamomile combo is soothing. It also has the bonus of hydrating your skin well so its a win win.

I'm not going to delve deep in into the Intense Night Oil in this post. I already reviewed it HERE. My thoughts are the same. I really love this as a night retinol oil. It's in my top three of all time. It's pricey but gentle & effective. A well done product that I would repurchase. I love it in the winter because it's a bit more gentle than a serum based retinol. I've actually been using it all week right now.

The Intense Eye Oil was a new launch I was so excited about. I've been using it a ton for the last few months and it's really quite divine. It's got a luxury black glass rollerball packaging that cooling on the eye area when applying. The rollerball is metal so it's got that cold soothing feel on the eyes. Think of this as the eye appropriate version of the Intense Night Oil.  Details per Votary:

Votary’s first specialist intense eye oil has been designed to address fine lines, wrinkles, and the loss of firmness around the eyes.

A good night’s sleep is written all over your face. Votary’s Intense Eye Oil is a powerful blend of natural plant extracts and oils boosted by a gentle retinoid to smooth and hydrate and to improve the appearance of fine lines while you sleep.

Tuberose extract firms and brightens, and sweet iris encourages cell regeneration. Acmella provides a gentle tightening and lifting effect. An oil soluble form of retinoid addresses collagen breakdown so you wake to brighter, firmer skin around the eyes.

Directions The roller ball within the chic glass vial dispenses the ideal amount of oil in just two sweeps around the eye socket. Then, gently pat into the area around your eye, paying particular attention to dark circles beneath the eye and fine lines by the temple.

Ingredients

prunus amygdalus dulcis (almond) oil, vitis vinifera (grape) seed oil, prunus armeniaca (apricot) kernel oil, persea gratissima (avocado) oil, punica granatum (pomegranate) seed oil, solanum lycopersicum (tomato) seed oil, caprylic/capric triglyceride, helianthus annuus (sunflower) seed oil, hydroxypinacolone retinoate, dimethyl isosorbide, iris pallida leaf cell extract, polianthes tuberosa callus extract, spilanthes acmella (paracress) flower extract, glycerin, tocopherol, dalbergia spp, rosa damascena (rose) flower oil, linalool+, citral+, citronellol+, geraniol+, eugenol+

This is a lighter to medium weight eye oil. It hydrates well without being heavy or greasy. The rollerball is soothing and depuffs with it's cool on contact touch. This oil sinks in quite easily after you pat it in a bit. It's a retinol oil so keep that in mind. Retinol can help firm, smooth and plump the eye area by boosting cell turnover. I find my eye area tighter and smoother while using this. It also hydrates well and adds extra moisture while managing to depuff.

Not in the facial oil but in the eye version are sweet iris and tuberose which have a brightening, tightening & increased cell turnover effect. The texture is definitely lighter and more easily absorbed. I really love this product and if I had one eye oil only this would be it. It's pricey but all Votary oils are well worth the splurge. They're extremely well done and the textures are phenomenal. I'm completely obsessed with this brand.
