Acaderma is a line I’ve talked about multiple times in the past. Acaderma CEO & Co-founder Dr. Shuting Hu is one of the youngest winners of the International Federation of Societies of Cosmetic Chemists award. Together with plant biology Professor James Simon, Acaderma was created. Think of Acaderma as being deeply rooted in science and academic research but actually is a clean skincare brand. They’re not only finding new plant ingredients but ways to use known ingredients for simple and effective formulations. I’ve loved every product they’re come out with so far. So y’all know how much I adore essences. Now this is listed as a toner but it has a light slippery texture more like an essence. You could use it on a cotton pad but that would be wasting it’s beauty. I splash in my hands and use them to apply. So this has lots of wonderful things like apple fruit water (has antioxidants and hydrates), dimethyl sulfone (MSM, supports collagen production & health, anti-inflammatory), acetyl glucosamine (simple sugar precursor of hyaluronic acid, hydrates, restores elasticity), fructooligosaccharides (prebiotics), panthenol (hydrating, soothing), Tetradecyl Aminobutyroylvalylaminobutyric Urea Trifluoroacetate (tripeptide, boosts production of hyauronan which is important in skins hydration), hyaluronic acid (hydrating), hydroxyacetophenone (hydrating antioxidant), Cynanchum Atratum Extract (anti-inflammatory), licorice root (brightening, hydrating), allantoin (soothing), glycerin (hydrating) and soybean seed extract (antioxidant, hydrating).
This has no discernible scent. Quite honestly I loved everything about it. It’s really hydrating yet lightweight and has a multi-factorial approach to an essence beyond just hyaluronic acid and glycerin. It has antioxidants and things like MSM that I find really beneficial for the skin. Kind of like NIOD MMHC this targets different aspects of adding hydration to the skin and I love that unique kind of approach. It’s going to help with not only hydrating but improving elasticity, supporting healthy collagen production and prebiotics. It just feels really fresh and makes my skin so bouncy. Totally in love and this will be on my shelf taking over the spots of some others for a long time. This should work for all skin types including sensitive, I can’t see this not working for anyone.
