Alpyn Beauty: Overview

Alpyn Beauty is a new skincare line. It's a natural sustainably sourced skincare line that uses wild crafted, hand-cultivated botanicals grown in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Founder Kendra Butler first created Alpyn Beauty Bar which is a boutique that sells high end brands. Now she has created Alpyn Beauty. The Alpyn Beauty line uses a proprietary ingredient complex called PlantGenius. Details per Alpyn Beauty:

Our proprietary ingredient complex, PlantGenius, is packed with the hardest-working, most resilient plants in the natural world: botanicals that have been conditioned over thousands of years to survive in an unforgiving climate. They've found a way to adapt, and flourish, in high altitude with low humidity, little oxygen, intense sun, harsh wind and heavy snowfall. Our extracts and actives are naturally supercharged with potent plant power!

Wild Arnica Antibacterial + anti-inflammatory. Contains Sesquiterpene lactone and flavonoids, which nourish skin, heal bruises and burns.

Wild Chamomile Anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, anti-irritant + anti-fungal. Reduces DNA oxidative damage.

Borage Rich in gamma linoleic acid (GLA), an essential fat to help prevent water loss and boost skin cell strength when taken internally or applied topically.

Calendula Anti-inflammatory + anti-bacterial. Heals wounds, burns, and helps treat eczema. Nourishes dry, damaged skin.

Sage Addresses wrinkles, fine lines, and age spots. Loaded with calcium and vitamin A to protect from free radical damage and assist in skin cell regeneration.

We wildcraft and and hand cultivate our proprietary ingredient complex at 6237 feet. Wildcrafting (also known as foraging) is the practice of harvesting plants from their natural, or “wild” habitat, primarily for food or medicinal purposes. Hand-cultivating is the act of caring for or raising plants individually by hand, rather than machine.

The Creamy Bubbling Cleanser looks like shimmering liquid pink marshmallows. Details per Alpyn Beauty:

Suds—and Substance. Introducing your new favorite face wash: Luxurious, antioxidant-rich lather refreshes and refines as it cleanses. Antioxidant-rich face wash with superstar exfoliants (papaya and pomegranate extract, glycolic and lactic acid), and natural hydrators linoleic acid and ceramides that leave skin soft and silky. Wild actives nourish with essential vitamins.

  • Gentle exfoliants—papaya fruit extract, pomegranate fruit ferment extract, glycolic and lactic acids—refine skin texture, eliminating dead surface cells, dirt, and grime as it cleanses.
  • Humectants—hyaluronic acid, ceramides and linoleic acid — maintain the moisture barrier, ensuring skin feels nourished and soft.
  • Potent antioxidant—vitamin C —protects against free radical damage.

This is a creamy cleanser that foams quite well (no SLS). It really has a nice foaming lather. It's got this beautiful shimmering pink color that reminds me of melted pink marshmallows. I love the glass pump packaging. Overall I really like the packaging on the line. It feels luxe and the label style matches the brand. I like this as a morning cleanse or a second cleanse. I really like it in the shower because it foams so well. It works great with a Foreo or similar device. This cleanser foams nicely and it doesn't dry my skin out. You've got alpha hydroxy acids to refine and resurface combined with antioxidants and humectants to help nourish and keep the moisture barrier intact. Plus it's pink. You know you all love pink. This cleanser smells lightly floral but nothing strong.

The Melt Moisturizer is my favorite from the line. Details per Alpyn Beauty:

A weightless super-hydrator that melts into skin leaving a fresh, velvety finish. Makeup glides on; compliments roll in. This weightless, firming super-hydrator melts into skin leaving a fresh, velvety finish. Ceramides and squalane help fortify the moisture barrier; vitamin C brightens and protects against free radical damage; a nonirritating retinal helps kick-start collagen production and diminishes the appearance of fine lines. Wild actives nourish with essential vitamins. Makeup glides on, compliments roll in.

  • A sophisticated cocktail of natural hydrators— hyaluronic acid, ceramides, olive fruit oil, linoleic acid, coconut, apricot kernel oil, squalane—fortify, maintain, and repair skin’s all-important moisture barrier.
  • Antioxidants— vitamin C, centella asiatica—brighten and provide protection from free radical damage.

Ingredients

Water, Sodium Hyaluronate, Cetyl Alcohol, Coconut Alkanes, Glycerin, Pyrus Malus (Apple) Fruit Extract, Potassium Cetyl Phosphate, Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Juice, Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) Kernel Oil, Capryloyl Glycerin/Sebacic Acid Copolymer, Coco-Caprylate/ Caprate, Diheptyl Succinate, Centella Asiatica Meristem Cell Culture, Xanthan Gum, Sorbitan Stearate, Dehydroacetic Acid, Benzyl Alcohol, Squalane, Tripeptide-29, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Glycolic Acid, Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Potassium Sorbate, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Tocopherol, Linoleic Acid, Coenochloris Signiensis Extract, Maltodextrin, Lecithin, Bakuchiol, Hydrolyzed Sodium Hyaluronate, Eclipta Prostrata Extract, Melia Azadirachta Leaf Extract, Moringa Pterygosperma Seed Oil, Ceramide NG, Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C), Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Salvia Officinalis (Sage) Leaf Extract, Arnica Montana (Arnica) Flower Extract, Baraga Officinalis (Borage) Flower Extract, Calendula Officinalis (Calendula) Flower Extract, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Oil

The Melt Moisturizer has a super light yet hydrating texture. It sinks right into the skin and doesn't feel heavy or greasy. I love how light it is yet it more intensely moisturizes. This leaves my skin very hydrated yet it never feels too heavy on the skin. I love that. It's got a dreamy light pink color that has a faint shimmer to it and smells faintly floral. I'm going to be living in this during the winter for days as I love the nourishing feel it leaves with that more velvety kind of finish.

This cream has a lot of soothing and anti-inflammatory ingredients like arnica, chamomile, centella asiatica & calendula. Then you have the hydrators like aloe, sodium hyaluronate, shea butter, hydrolyzed hyaluronic acid (my favorite form as it's small and easily penetrates into the skin) & ceramide NG. Melt Moisturizer also has vitamin E & C plus multiple nourishing fatty acids from oils like olive, squalane, apricot, moringa & jojoba. This moisturizer has Bakuchiol a plant retinol, glycolic acid to resurface and exfoliate the skin encouraging cellular turnover & Tripeptide-29 to stimulate collagen production. Bakuchiol is starting to become more common in use and there has been some research into it being a possible alternative to retinol. I loved the combination of ingredients and it really is a lovely cream. My favorite piece from the line.

The Line-Filling Eye Balm will be perfect for the coming colder season. Details per Alpyn Beauty.

Ingredients

Water, Sodium Hyaluronate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Squalane, Coconut Alkanes, Glycerin, Pyrus Malus (Apple) Fruit Extract, Coco-Caprylate/Caprate, Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Bakuchiol, Centella Asiatica Meristem Cell Culture, Xanthan Gum, Euphrasia Officinalis Extract, Cetearyl Glucoside, Sorbitan Stearate, Dehydroacetic Acid, Benzyl Alcohol, Linoleic Acid, Cetyl Hydroxyethylcellulose, Caffeine, Tripeptide-29, Potassium Sorbate, Hydrolyzed Sodium Hyaluronate, Kappaphycus Alvarezii Extract, Caesalpinia Spinosa Fruit Extract, Tocopherol, Tin Oxide, Caesalpinia Sappan Bark Extract, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Arctostaphylos Uva Ursi (Bearberry) Leaf Extract, Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin CJ, Ceramide NG, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Salvia Officinalis (Sage) Leaf Extract, Amica Montana (Amica) Flower Extract, Baraga Officinalis (Borage) Flower Extract, Calendula Officinalis (Calendula) Flower Extract, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract.

The texture is a thicker creamy balm. It does have a cushiony feel which I liked. It feels like a thicker cream but it's not greasy or heavy feeling at all & it didn't cause any milia on me like some heavier eye creams. It applies well no tugging the eye area and sinks right in leaving no greasy feel. I was afraid when I saw how thick it looked that it would tug a little applying or be too heavy but it was actually a really gorgeous texture. The hydration level is great. I think this is a great alternative to an oil balm if you want more hydration than a cream but less than an oil balm with butters. It has a cream color with pink micro shimmer. This shimmer really helps to instantly brighten up the eye area.

This eye cream has a lot of the same ingredients as the moisturizer minus the glycolic acid. It's also got caffeine to de-puff and vitamin C, Eyebright, bearberry leaf & licorice root extract to help brighten dark circles. You still have Bakuchiol and Tripeptide-29 like the moisturizer. This does a good job and hydrating and plumping my fine lines around the eye area. You have some de-puffing and instant brightening from the pink shimmer and caffeine. It marginally helped my dark circles but I say this every time I test an eye cream. I have dark circles from hereditary and other reasons that an eye cream never helps. Know your limits of what an eye cream can do for you. It can't fix nature.

Overall I really was impressed by the Alpyn Beauty line. I look forward to seeing what they put out in the future. Plus the entire line is cotton candy pink colored so I'm sure that will be a big hit. Alpyn Beauty is available on it's website and Credo Beauty.
