Amore Pacific Vintage Single Extract Essence

I’ve been wanting to talk about this stunner by Amore Pacific for a while. The Vintage Single Extract Essence is so simple yet so beautiful. Details per Amore Pacific:

This anti-aging essence delivered with the antioxidant power of Single Extract Formula™ and created using the patented Full Body Extraction™ promotes prebiotics to pre-tox, preventing further signs of skin aging. Vintage Tea Leaf™, containing green tea’s precious substance Catechin, provides improvement in the appearance of skin clarity, texture and elasticity.

It carefully utilizes green tea cultivated from the Dolsongi Green Tea Garden; the first of the three green tea gardens that AMOREPACIFIC owns and operates on Jeju Island off the South Coast of Korea.

The green tea leaves are handpicked and naturally fermented in optimal conditions for 50 days. These fermented leaves are then transferred by tea masters and placed into “onggi’s”, traditional Korean earthware band buried in the earth, to age naturally for another 50 days.

After 100 days of waiting and a 24-hours slow extraction process, AMOREPACIFIC’s Vintage Single Extract Essence is perfected.

Directions

  • After cleansing and toning, apply morning and at night before moisturizing.
  • Tip the bottle, lightly shake 2-3 times, and dispense onto palm.
  • With both hands, apply on the face and neck in a massaging motion and lightly pat to promote absorption.

Ingredients Water/Aqua/Eau, Propanediol, Glycerin, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, 1,2-Hexanediol, Ethylhexylglycerin

Lets start with how stunning this bottle is. A frosted glass beauty with a splash top. The essence itself is water light and sinks in quickly. The propanediol & glycerin gives this a light hydrating feel. The start of this product is the vintage green tea leaf extract. The green tea leaves come from a special garden on Jeju island. They are harvested and fermented for fifty days. They’re then transferred and aged for another fifty days. In total they age the leaves for 100 days before they’re ready to process in a slow extraction.

I love green tea in skincare. It’s an antioxidant and soothing. I also find it balances the skin very well. The polyphenols called catechins found in green tea are a very powerful antioxidant plus has soothing and anti-inflammatory properties. Green tea also has tannins which help with pore reduction and helps balance the skin. The tannins help remove oil from the skin without drying it basically as a natural astringent. Tannins are also antibacterial. Caffeine has some soothing and antioxidant properties plus it helps constrict blood vessels which helps reduce redness.

As you can see green tea has a ton of benefits for the skin. It has something to offer for all skin types. I loved this in the summer as it wasn’t heavy and it really helped balance my skin. The water light texture was easy to layer. I applied this right after cleansing and toning. If you really like an essence you can follow this even with a thicker essence. Fermentation breaks down ingredients into a smaller form that’s easier for the body to use. So it increases absorption. The addition of microorganisms to an ingredient for fermentation also adds extra nutrients from the process.

Overall I really loved this product, it’s super pricey but it lasts forever. I used this daily for weeks and barely made a dent in it. You only need a few shakes to apply. If you want a balancing lightweight essence this one is for you. I’ll be pulling mine out again this summer.
