August Samples & Empties

I apologize this post is so late. I try to get the samples/empties post done by the last day of the following month with the goal of eventually being on the last day of the same month. I actually had this post all done days ago, but accidentally deleted it instead of posting it. Four days down the drain. So here we go again, time for the samples and empties post. Quick thoughts about each starting above left to right above.

Babo Botanicals Clear Zinc Sunscreen: This was for the baby. It was the worst sunscreen ever. It separated into liquid and paste, it was hard to rub in and pilled. Terrible. I used it once and it was recycled.

VERB Sea Spray: This was OK. Not my favorite. It didn't give my hair enough oomph. No sticky or crunchy feel.

Sachajuan Colour Save Shampoo: This was OK. Hydrating, made my hair too slick. I like volume.

Herbivore Rose Hibiscus Face Mist: Love, I would rebuy. See review here.

Oskia Renaissance Mask 50: My favorite exfoliating chemical peel mask ever. I talked about it here and here. Will buy as long as it's still made. It's moderate and never dries your skin out, it tingles enough but isn't harsh.

Omorovicza Hydra Melting Cleanser: I really liked this thick gel oil balm style cleanser. Smelled like sage. Doesn't strip your skin. Just makes my skin feel amazing. I do hate the tub package. You stick your dirty fingers in a tub and I just don't like that. This would be so much better in a tube or large pump. The tub also takes up a lot of room on a counter if you have a smaller space. I talked about it here. The product is fabulous if you can get past the tub.

Su-man Velvet Skin Brightening Serum: This is a nice hydrating gel style serum. I'll write a a review when I'm done with the last one as I had multiples, but I briefly went over it here.

Chapstick Total Hydration Coconut: Loved it, cheap, hydrating and not waxy. Would absolutely rebuy.

Surratt Matte Diaphane Loose Powder: Love it. Translucent, finely milled. Travel friendly loose powder that I talked about here. I will rebuy. I hate that there's no way to buy replacement puffs, they should come with every refill or have the option to buy separately.

Drunk Elephant Shaba Complex Eye Serum: Liked this, fun package. Had good results. Review to come.

Dior Diorshow Mascara: This used to be great but feels like they changed something about it. Now it is less voluminous, more spidery almost.

L'Oreal Voluminous Million Lashes: Hated it. The brush is that annoying silicone wand not the original old fashioned large brush I thought this used to have.

Korres Golden Krocus Serum: This was OK. Strong scent. I didn't notice anything huge.

REN V-Cense Revitalising Night Cream: This was an average cream. Nothing bad, but nothing remarkable. It was hydrating and pleasant, no irritation.

Sunday Riley Good Genes Treatment: I like this stuff. It works. It's got the worst strong cat pee like scent and it stings. But it works. Full review to come when I'm done with larger bottle.

Armani Eyes to Kill Mascara: Love this, it's been staple of mine for ten years.

Armani Black Ecstasy Mascara: This is OK. Deeper black than the original. Less volumizing, more length and almost spidery feel.

Beauty Blender Original: Finally decided to toss my first one out. Love it. Extra effort but gives the best flawless finish.

TokyoMilk Sea & Sky: Great sea scent. Light. Bought a full bottle. It's cheap too.

Surratt Expressioniste Brow Pencil Blonde: I like the refill idea on this. It's a nice pencil. The blonde shade I wish was a bit lighter, it feels more taupe than blonde. I went over it some here.

Kate Somerville Goat Milk Cream: This is OK. Safe, moisturizing cream. Won't irritate anyone.

Rahua Finishing Treatment: Love this. Natural, not like slick silicone hair creams. This is just moisturizing and not greasy.

Lancer Dani Glowing Skin Perfector: This surprised me. Shimmery beige pink champagne shade. Hydrating but not heavy or greasy.

NARS Laguna Liquid Bronzer: This was OK. Shimmery liquid version. It was too shimmery for me. I prefer Armani's Liquid Summer.

Paula's Choice Super Antioxidant Concentrate Serum: Good for dry skin, bit thick in general for me.

Omorovicza Gold Night Drops: Love this. So excited I get to use a full size right now. Review coming one day.

Paula's Choice Cellular Defense Daily Moisturizer:This is good for dry skin. It's heavier and thicker. I prefer a thinner SPF.

MUFE Ultra HD Foundation 118: This was a good shade match for me being around NC25-27. The foundation is medium to full coverage, looks great on, but it's a bit drying for me. Too matte.

Neogen Lemon Green Caviar Essence & Tox Tightening Pack: This was good. A textured pad with two sides. Left a slight, I hesitate to say oily residue, but it leaves a nice moisture film behind. Didn't dry my skin out at all. It wasn't greasy at all.

Dr Dennis Gross Ferulic + Retinol Wrinkle Recovery Overnight Serum: This was thicker than I thought it was going to be. Almost like a light lotion. I prefer others to it because of that, but would be good for oily skin as a night cream potentially.

Charlotte Tilbury Magic Eye Rescue: I love this. Rich but not too much. It is on my list to get a full size one day. Besides the Goddess Mask this is my favorite Charlotte Tilbury skincare item.

Kat Burki Vitamin C Intensive Face Cream: I didn't expect to love this, but it's amazing. I just bought a full size. It's pretty moisturizing without being heavy or greasy. Review one day.

Paula's Choice 10% Niacinamide Booster: This was hard to test, the liquid texture made it run out of the sample packet every time I tried to use some. Not sure how much I really got out of it.

Omorovicza Ultramoor Mud Mask: I usually love everything Omorovicza. This was one of the few I didn't. It was too drying for me. I can see this being a super power detoxifier, great for oily skin. If you have dry skin you might try a sample first.

Skyn Iceland Blemish Dots: I love these. I reviewed them here.

Alpha-H Age Delay Hand & Cuticle Care Cream: This is my favorite night hand cream. I reviewed it here. I will rebuy until it's discontinued.

Rahua Conditioner: This is great. Light, not heavy or greasy. Fabulous nutty oil smell with a hint of sweet. It moisturizes but is light.

Ojon Damage Reverse Restorative Conditioner: Love the scent, warm nut oil scent. Moisturizing, not too greasy. A bit too heavy for me.

Alba Very Emollient Body Lotion Coconut Rescue: This was cheap so I wanted to love it. It's natural and a large size. It has an odd twist to coconut smell, almost peach or sweet added to it. It takes forever to rub in, which is why I wouldn't buy it again. It was moisturizing.

Darphin Hydraskin Light: This was nice. Hydrating gel cream. I've always wanted to try more from Darphin, I just never get around to it.

Caudalie Premier Cru Cream: This is a nice heavy cream. It's a little too heavy for me.

NIP + FAB No Needle Fix Serum: I like this. I reviewed it here. This is bottle #1 out of 3.

Salon Grafix Invisible Dry Shampoo: I still like this. I've been trying a few others. I reviewed it here. It's not as strong as some others, that's why I like it.

Omorovicza Balancing Moisturiser: Love this. Great summer lotion, or lotion for oily/combo skin. I talked about it here.

Whamisa Organic Flowers Original Toner: This was a nice slippery, moisturizing toner. Review to come.

TRESemme Expert Selection Reverse System: I got this as an Influenster sample. Seemed weird to condition before shampoo. But I tried it. My hair felt the same as always. It was OK, nothing that makes me jump up and down to go buy a full size.

Charlotte Tilbury Magic Eye Rescue: See above.

Paula's Choice Super-Light Daily Wrinkle Defense: Love this sunscreen. It's light and for a physical block it doesn't have a white cast. It's also not greasy.

Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel: Loved this. It's moisturizing yet light. It's a great gel cream. I would buy it. And it's really cheap, bonus. I use to layer under my day lotion.

Clinique Smart Custom-Repair Serum: There's something about this every time I use a sample. I like it. I think about buying a big one one day.

Touch in Sol Browza Taupe for Two: I love the formula and shade. It's a true light warm blonde which is hard to find. Most light blondes are cooler taupes. The formula lasts forever. I do hate the blunt tip that can't be sharpened. It was hard to get a fine point or detail. This formula would be great in either a Tom Ford style shape or skinny mechanical eyeliner size.

Armani Eyes to Kill Mascara: See above.

Paula's Choice Ultra-Light Super Antioxidant Concentrate Serum: I like this. It's got great ingredients. A light texture. I used two tubes recently. Review to come.

Shiseido Facial Cotton: Love this, it's a staple. I use it every day.
