Byredo Tinted Lip Balm

Byredo launched a new Tinted Lip Balm. There's three shades. Details per Byredo:

Lip Balm, now with a subtle tint of colour.

Available in three fresh flushed, universally-flattering shades, a single gliding coat offers long-lasting nourishment and a semi-matte veil of colour that can be layered for a more intensely pigmented finish.

Still the same ultra-moisturising, 100% natural, vegan formulation, the Tinted Lip Balm is housed within a distinct curvilinear, anthracite metal case and sealed with a satisfying magnetic click.

Rosa: A blush of pink
Argila: A fresh, flushed neutral
Ocra: An earthen rouge

The packaging is sleek and slim with the same curved pewter metal as the lipsticks. The texture is creamy, the pigmentation is actually good-I would go with light to medium and buildable, the finish is satin. They're hydrating but honestly when I first tried them on I thought 'these are creamy lipsticks, not balms'. They're creamier and less glossy than balms, more satin in finish and more pigmented than balms. Typical balms anyway. The scent is very natural and almost crayon like. Not necessarily my favorite scent. They're extremely comfortable on the lips. Quite enjoyable.

The colors aren't exactly for me. I feel the colors are off from the photos. Rosa is a light pink nude with a whitish base. It's not really what I pictured. It turns brighter and almost more coral pink white on the lips than I hoped. Less nude pink. Argila is a cool light nude. It's not as pink as it looks on the model. Look at the two darker skinned models, that's more accurate. It's not pink at all really. Ocra is a russet. It's more orange feeling than that photo which looks coral. Rosa was my favorite of the bunch. Argila was just too pale for me and cool. And Ocra was too bright and deep. Rosa isn't bad by any means, it's just more white based blush pink than nude which was what I was hoping for. I mean I liked the texture it was nice as a lipstick, just it wasn't very balm like overall.

I was just expecting different, the scent is not really pleasing (waxy, crayon like) and honestly I was kind of disappointed overall. A bit of a regrettable purchase honestly as none really wowed me or seemed worth $42, other than the packaging.
